Design the Next Enterprise

Mr. Probert, thank you for your words of encouragement and advice, as they more than compensate for a lot of the feedback Adam had been getting from the STO participants. Certainly all of us who have deep affection for the greater story that is Star Trek have, to some degree, our own personal Treks going on in our heads, the continuing voyages as we would tell them to our children. But for most of us there's a silent acknowledgment that such stories are disconnected, spurious spinoffs from the core of the story -- which is why there's so many debates about what's "canon" and what's not.
There are few opportunities in anyone's life to truly contribute to the greater story and feel as though that contribution means something. (This is true outside of Trek as well.) For someone such as yourself whom we all recognize as a member of the actual brain trust of the story to validate one of these creations as worthy of the broader story, may very well be as great an honor and as important an event as winning the actual contest. And as merely a witness to this, I simply wish to say that you've done a beautiful thing for Adam, which makes me prouder than ever to call myself a Trekker.

OhMyGoodness.
I'm a bit of a fanboy of the 'canon' Ambassador anyway, but THAT model is.... fantastic.
That, my friends, is the true connection between the B and the D, and it is gorgeous. I shall forever lament that there wasn't time to fully realize that concept for Yesterday's Enterprise.
And I LOVE those nacelles.. so .. elegant.
I really do hope someone picks it up for a Kit. I would certainly dust off the model paint for that.
Now to find a way to get that included with the canon Ambassador when it comes to STO later this year
Lovely ship, has the right lines and the right "feel", I like how the nacelle pylons flow.
You may not have thought of it but it was your great design that led me to think of it.
I've always liked this design more than the Cannon Ambassador class design and im glad you like the new Enterprise F design
I watched the development of that on Scifi-Meshes with great interest. Fantastic design and a brilliantly realized 3D model.

Same way I did: the Internet is a pretty darned big place. Thankfully, we have people like Probert to occasionally direct our awareness to stuff like this.
Just another note of belated congratulations to you runners-up.
It takes a lot of guts to put yourselves out there, all of you guys (and gals?), and you all went for it, coming up with a new & exciting versions of what had gone before... some of which I found to be pretty cool while some needed a little more work. That's okay,... hundreds of people inspired by the brilliant works of Matt Jefferies and, of course, The Great Bird himself.
So,..... when is the next contest?
It takes a lot of guts to put yourselves out there, all of you guys (and gals?), and you all went for it, coming up with a new & exciting versions of what had gone before... some of which I found to be pretty cool while some needed a little more work. That's okay,... hundreds of people inspired by the brilliant works of Matt Jefferies and, of course, The Great Bird himself.

No argument there. Its a bit of a shame they didn't have CGI way back when; things might have gone a lot differently. That not to say I don't like the design they ended up using; I like how she resembles a more modernized Constitution, but this Ambassador really better shows the transition between the Excelsior class and Galaxy class.
Can we make it the Excelsior class instead? If there's one ship that's badly in need of a "reboot", it's the Excelsior.
