Definite New Series/Limited Series with Patrick Stewart Returning

Will they be wearing AGT uniforms. And maybe a debut of the Enterprise F

I'd love to see the future commbadges seen in TNG, DS9 and VOY revived as the official commbadge in use in Starfleet around 2399. The uniform itself would be nice and a wonderful nod to in-universe continuity but if they did go with a different design I wouldn't be surprised, in part because the future sequences from "All Good Things...(TNG)," "The Visitor(DS9)" and "Endgame(VOY)" are now from future timelines that no longer exist or were fantasy creations to begin with.

Admiral Janeway's interference with history to get Voyager back home 16 years sooner eradicated the history she experienced, a timeline that included the TNG and DS9 uniforms from the late 24th and early 25th centuries. If they're different that could be why.

Very excited for Picard's return.

Expect him to be a changed man, but not a fundamentally DIFFERENT man, if you get my drift. A distinction some Star Wars fans did not grasp (or care about) with Last Jedi.

Do not expect (or want) a full fledged TNG reunion. But would not be opposed to cast members returning if they desire. Or even a couple being recurring cast. Agree with the post earlier saying you cannot have a Picard show without resolving the Beverly issue somehow.

It is going to be different, and it should be. But I see no reason why it can't be a vehicle to explore new territory with Picard, a passing of the baton/introduction to new characters & crew, and a more fitting ending than Nemesis for the TNG/DS9/VOY timeline.

At least that is my hope.

I thought the ensemble of TNG was one of the things that made it. From the sounds of it this looks like it's going only be a Patrick Stewart vehicle though. Without the friendship aspect of the crew I do worry this show might be too dark...

It's so early in development, there is no way to tell if we will get anyone else. Getting Stewart was the starting point. They haven't even identified the story/stories they want to tell yet.

I am all for getting the band back together, as long as its more "All Good Things..." and less ST: Nemesis.

And we need to bring Data back as well. I'm sure B4 has matured significantly 20 years after Nemesis. Perhaps he'll be the captain of the Enterprise-F as written in the comic books.

We just need a new actor playing him as Brent Spiner has ruled out playing an older Data.

With de-aging tech/software improving every day, they should be able to return Spiner to Season 1 Data no problem.

He's the perfect Ambassador, and like I always said, a perfect side character. You need a young guy in there who is available emotionally, personally and sexually to lead the crew, IMO.

Oh that's cool. I have never noticed that Admiral Janeway's uniform was the same style as Captain (Dr) Picard had in "All good things".

I'd like him to only work with Starfleet when it suits him as an adjunct and be separate but part of it. Unofficial as it were.

I have high hopes for this. Patrick Stewart did not come cheap, and I don't just mean financially. I am quite sure he did not agree to do this series without believing it was going to be good and demanding some level of creative control. It's not like he needs the money or lacks for work. He wouldn't be doing it unless he thought the story was going to be interesting and give him a lot to work with as an actor. There's lots of possibilities but I would bet on Picard being some sort of ambassador and troubleshooter. It's what this character WOULD do and leaves open a universe of potential stories where he could show up anywhere. I would bet my house that there will be appearances by a lot of familiar faces, too, and I really look forward to finding out what some of them are up to in-universe. It will be interesting to see to what extent the series follows any of the plot set forth in some of the novels set in the same timeframe. That is quite possible given the involvement of Kirsten Beyer.

It’s almost certainly the exact same uniform. And don’t forget DS9 used the pattern in ‘the visitor’ but probably had to knock up some new ones for Dax and Bashir.

So, TNG? Because, that's why Riker existed.

And I do not agree with this opinion, which is fine. I think that Picard is more than capable of leading a crew with all the dynamics of a good leader.

Exactly. Using people with a track record and experience whom you've worked with before isn't nepotism; it's just common sense. There's a reason Spielberg tends to have John Williams score most of his movies or keeping hiring the same production people. Or why Shirley Bassey kept getting called back to sing Bond movie theme songs. Why break up the band when you have a combo that works?

That's not nepotism or favoritism or whatever. It's just employing people you know you can rely because you've worked with them before.

Look at it this way. If you need to have some home repairs done, are you going to take a chance on some new contractor you've never used before--or are you going to hire the same folks who did a good job fixing your roof last summer?

Shirley bassey did multiple bonds?

Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever, and Moonraker.

Could've sworn she did The Man with the Golden Gun, too, but apparently that was Lulu.

Ah. Cubbies Welsh phase. I never got on with Connery, and like many, my early Bond experience involves a Bank Holiday or Xmas and ITV. Though I have developed a soft spot for the Brosnan era. Connery was ancient history for me, Moore was something the rental units put on TV, Dalton was an Easter bank holiday, but Brosnan was around for the traditional Bond age. Craig is meh. Nice cinematography, but meh.

Maybe Ambassador Picard can randomly take command of the latest Enterprise, giving himself a captain's rank, and forcing the current captain to be demoted to commander for no reason.
Ah yes, have Picard wrest command of the Enterprise F from Captain Shon to mess with Star Trek Online fans. :P

Or even better, have Ambassador Picard sit on the bridge next to the actual captain, forget his place and repeatedly shout orders like he did in the Countdown comics next to Enterprise E's captain Data, to the point where Nero of all people had to say "You forget yourself Picard, you're not captain anymore." ;)

But I have it on good authority that they will resolve the biggest cliffhanger in all of Star Trek, and reveal that Future Guy from Enterprise's Temporal Cold War is a ticked off Picard projecting himself into the past. The series will basically be Patrick Stewart barking orders at an offscreen Silik.
