No. It's a more enlightened time. Picard and his husband's relationship will be right out in the open.
And some of us will surely be pleased. I prefer to think of the cup as half-full rather than fret about worst-case scenarios. We don't want to be so anxious or prematurely angry about each new Trek project that it stops being fun.

Maybe Picard has been living through the same “Captain Picard Day” over and over until he truly appreciates the meaning of the day and all the children on the ship. We caught up with him when he finally exits the timeloop 20 years later.

I have a weird absence of any feeling regarding TAS. It's so insubstantial/barely there I can't love it or hate it. I mean, the good episodes aren't that good, and the bad episodes aren't anywhere near as bad as TOS Season 3. It's just sort of...there.
