DEFIANCE Season 3

Yeah, I forgot about her in my last post. It's a shame to see her get killed, I liked her and I was very curious to see where they were taking her character. I wonder if they gave her so much attention because they knew they were going to kill her?

You know, at the rate people are dying in Defiance, you'd think the locals would be deserting that town in droves.

The statistics do not hold up for that place being a safe haven.

The founder of Defiance, Jessica Fletcher, disagrees with your assessment. :p

Pretty good episode. What really stand out is all the various comedic moments, especially that moment when the vet starts going on about faith and Datak responds "will faith prevent me from pissing over you?" We got so much going on in this episode, the Omec beginning their invasion, Stahma trying to reconcile with Alak, Yewll is freed from Omec control. Should be great next week.

There's one thing that's kind of bugging me. The Omec all appear to be played by black actors.

I picked up on that when the casting for Tev'gin and Kindzy was first announced. I remember making the comment "badass conquerors played by black actors. Why does this sound familiar?" Although, to be fair, most Klingons are actually played by white actors. They just happen to be in black face when they're in character.

Given the implied degree of inbreeding, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that they all seem to share very similar features.

That they chose to use people of African decent to portray them is probably a combination of who they cast to play the two lead characters and the fact that it's a distinct look from all the other Votan races they've shown so far. Unless I'm forgetting something, I don't think they've had any people of African heritage play any prominent Castithan or Irathient characters.

The purple people eaters would happily eat him and in fact he is at this point being lifted lovingly on his way from the fork to the mouth.

Or did you not watch this episode?

Okay she might steal him away for long term breeding purposes but clearly we're meant to think it's snack time.

I'm voting for DATAK TARR to burst in and save him. Thus reuniting the Tarr family. Sorta.

No I did not see the episode as I am living vicariously through posts on the internet. I will get season 3 on DVD when it is released as there's no hope in hell of it ever being on "Free to air TV"

We never even had season 2 in Australia unless you had Pay TV

For those that still play the game there is a brand new arkfall .. Shrill arkfall and they are mean and deadlier then anything currently in the game.

Do you have a sense that people still care about the game?

I am not into games anymore, so I am way out of it.

Were the Omec a part of the game too?

There's a game?

(Yeah, I know there is, I'm just bein' snyde. I never played it, never saw it, only care about the show).

No they're not.... And having played it now the shrill are just reskinned scrappers.. and Archers with buffed up health...

I'm actually having more fun with Skyforge

I played the game a little bit for a couple days. It was pretty good, but I got distracted by other stuff, and never went back it. I keep meaning to give it another go, but I keep forgetting.

I kept expecting Datak to come busting in for the last couple minutes of the episode, and was kind of shocked when he didn't.

Well, that was interesting. It went in some unexpected directions. I almost wonder if there'll be another season. This one's been a step up in any case. :)

Tonight's season finale:
A potential suicide mission is agreed to be the only way to end the Omec threat once and for all when Season 3 comes to a close.

Huh, they actually did what I hoped they would with Nolan.

Be interesting to see which way they'd go with another season.
