Contest: ENTER December 2022 Art Challenge — “Trek Craft Inspired by a Car Manufacturer”

Welcome to the 209th Fan Art Forum Challenge!

As has been determined by viewers like yourself, December's theme is …

Trek Craft Inspired by a Car Manufacturer

In Fantastic Four 2, they introduced the Fantasicar, which was "built" by Dodge, and even contained familiar Dodge traits, such as the front grill and logo. My suggestion would be to create a Star Trek craft belonging to a particular car maker (Dodge, Ford, Chevy, etc). The craft would need to contain visual traits that make it identifiable as a particular brand.

The Rules
  • the artwork you submit should be created during the month of the challenge
  • only one final image can be submitted (although it may contain multiple views)
  • your final entry should be posted in this thread (although dedicated WIP threads are appreciated)
The winner gets to sport the “Art Challenge Winner” banner below their name for the following month and has the honor of hosting January's challenge.

You have until Saturday, December 31st to post your final entry in this thread. If you have any questions or if you need more time, just let us know in this thread. :)

By the way, you can suggest and later vote on January's contest theme here!

Good luck and have fun! I'm looking forward to your ideas!

I have finally had an idea, but whatever I manage to get done tomorrow will almost certainly be little more than a sketch (drawing starships and/or cars is NOT my strong suit), but I'm really looking forward to seeing what all the CG wizards come up with!

Sweet, and sleek. Though this presentation is kind of dark - the shadowed places on the ships blend into the background.

That was intentional. (in hope your brain fills the darkness with cool details so I dont have to...:D) But now I wonder if I should make a brighter one or, as I initially planned, make a thread where I explain myself...and why the thing looks like it does.

Different light and dark views would be good - we want to know how it shines in the light of a sunny day landing on the surface of planet Whatchamacallit, not just orbiting its star. :)

Oh, wow, @MisterD! Your Alfa shuttle/air car is stunning! And you've saved me from scrabbling around trying to find time enough to elaborate on my very quick sketches of an Alfa/Vulcan starship (because there's no way mine could compare) :luvlove:

I hope you can find time for a brighter version as Laura suggested, and an explanation in your dedicated thread, as I'd love to know & see more.

Ok...I guess we can meet half way. I make a slightly brighter version of this one as entry. (so I dont have to blame you when nobody likes it)

But I will also make the thread where everybody can experience dissapointment first hand when finding out that there is nothing exciting going on in the darkness.

Thanks. But I want to see your Vulcan alfa.

Perhaps I should have phrased that a bit better - I meant that it would be nice to see a brighter version as well as the dark one (because I think the shadowy version works very well indeed) :D

I'll pop a couple of my Vulcan Alfa sketches in my art thread in a bit, but honestly, there's really not very much to see. You mentioned disappointment earlier... ;)

Happy New Year, everyone! @MisterD and @blssdwlf, I love your designs. Both look very sleek. @Cyfa, I'm sorry to see you had to pass on this one. Hopefully the next contest will see some more entries again.

Sorry for the delay. Needed a little more time than I thought to work on my entry. I know, this is super cheesy and looks more like something belonging to Star Wars, but it was the first idea that popped into my head when I saw the theme. Hopefully it's obvious which car model this is based on:
