Decanonization Time!

Alright folks. Let's start listing stuff we want decanonized and how it might affect the series/franchise as a whole.

I'd take the hatchet to "The Inner Light". Just painfully dull with a side of Riker acting like an idiot. And these folks didn't send any books or other technology with their history? What if the battery went bad? There goes their whole history or once Picard dies.

Effect? I don't think there is much of one.

Excising Section 31 has no effect on anything, since it left no impacts on the underutilized "lost era" it was set in.

TNG. What if they ended up doing the original movie plan, use Saavik and David as the "Next Generation" and have them take over the movie franchise...

As much as I would enjoy seeing most of the kurtzman era wiped from existence, it wouldnt be fair to those who enjoy it. From a business perspective, its not smart because you are now saying that content doesn't matter so why stream it or buy it on home video?

Just move on with something new and fresh. Where do we go from here as a franchise? Thats a more exciting discussion.

All of it is what it is, even the things I don't like, like Section 31. If we go down this route, well I guess what we end up getting is half the threads right here.

But if I have to answer the question? TATV. Mainly because it’s deletion would have little effect and actually make a few things better.

Decanonize everything. All of it. Every last bit of it, old, new, and as yet unmade. And declare that henceforth any discussion of Star Trek, old or new, that brings up canon will be grounds for pointing and laughing.
