Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5

A rare appearance by steeled-up Nate was welcome.
They seem to be starting to use the characters powers at least a little bit more this season than they had been lately.
I remembered one thing that's been very mildly annoying me the last couple seasons. We've gotten Constantine and a big focus on magic, but they haven't introduced any of the other big magic/supernatural characters. I keep hoping we might see characters like Zatanna, Etrigan The Demon, or Dr. Fate or villains like Felix Faust or Circe. I was also going to add Swamp Thing and Madam Xanadu to the list, but they might have wanted to avoid them while they were being used by DC Universe's Swamp Thing series.

I thought I'd read somewhere that they chose to leave. Anyone know why the producers, or whoever, decided to get rid of them like that?

I gather they just felt that Ray and Nora had reached a happy place and that meant they were no longer screwed-up enough to be interesting as Legends. Basically they're graduating -- or getting paroled from the asylum, if you prefer.

You know what would be hilarious? If Ray ended up as a supporting regular on the Superman show.

They will never admit it but I think it comes down to money. They wanted someone cheaper than Routh and his wife ended up being sacrificed as well. It's frankly something that has me pissed off as much as one can be over this kind of thing. He should not be leaving. I think he might be one of the more popular characters on the show especially since he not only was their from day 1 he was first introduced on Arrow.

I don't really agree. He hasn't had that much to do on the show for the past year or two -- his relationship with Nora is pretty much the only arc he's had left. He spent much of last season possessed by a demon, which is a sign that the writers couldn't find anything interesting to do with him as himself. Certainly the actor is charming, but the character has long since run his course.

But mick also hasn't done alot, only drinking and being agressive.
The best thing about Ray is his friendship with Nate and that he isn't a macho.

Still a shame that Tyler Hoechlin get's a Superman show and not Routh, I would love to see an show about a older Superman/hero

I like Routh as an actor, but I can't really defend Ray Palmer sticking around. He got the same lobotomy that Sara got post season 1, so one less idiot on the ship can only be a good thing, even if I'd have preferred the literally useless Nate and Gary to get removed first.

As for the show, Constantine is still literally the only thing working on the show this season, and the new Zari is easily my most hated character (and going from a top 3 season 3 character to the biggest pile of shit is a big downgrade). I'm going to give the show a few more episodes to see if Constantine's stuff has more to it, but if nothing changes I'll just probably drop the show.

I don’t hate Gary, don’t love him either. I wish they would stop making him out to be an idiot nearly all the time. That’s gotten old.

To me what makes Ray work best is he is kind of the glue and sort of cheerleader of the crew which to me has value beyond him having specific arcs. Plus his friendship with Nate also elevates Nate as well. If I would use a Trek example it would kind of be McCoy on TOS. McCoy had maybe 1 story on the series or maybe 2 if we count the salt vampire ep as one. Yet he is very vital part of the shows success. Plus when it comes to idea of story or character arc all one really needs to do is find a new arc for him or story. What if Ray lost the use of his legs which allow your first handicap character. Or ends up becoming a teacher that helps new heroes learn what it means to be a hero and the new Atom will be his first student.

I completely brain farted during this episode over the name Wild Dog. I completely forgot what that name belonged to, and I love arrow.

Took me a moment to remember who Wild Dog was too. At first I wondered if his "job offer" for Sara might be taking over Team Arrow, but then I remember that SpectOlivre magically made all crime in Star City go away somehow. And Rene was running for mayor, so it was probably something in city government.

So Mick hooking up with Ally at his reunion in the past a few subjective weeks ago produced a kid, and it's Penny from the Netflix Lost in Space. That's a good casting choice. She certainly inherited her dad's attitude, and his love of fire.

Clever idea to use the Encore thing to bring back one of the show's main villains, and to reconcile him with Nora and the Legends. McDonough did a terrific job. When Damien was saying his farewells to Nora, I could immediately tell from his face what he was planning to do.

Interesting coincidence that we get returns for both Thawne and Darhk on the same night. That's basically 2/3 of the Legion of Doom. No sign of Malcolm Merlyn, though.

^ Y’know saying that, I had a wild thought because it seems that Rory doesn’t do very much these days that maybe Ally is being set up to be his successor. With Sara and Mick settling down a bit maybe some young blood with some piss and vinegar (not to mention a little fire).
