DC to REBOOT???

Yeah I don't see them working. I just thought it would be an interesting move on DC's part. The Authority has certainly come crashing down. I have the first two trades and that's about it. Other than them I don't think I'm really interested in any of the Wildstorm titles.

The Authority is a property that can only work for a short period of time and then only under certain conditions. They need to exist in a universe where they can actually change the Status Quo (which they can't do in the DCU) and also once they've done that - what other stories are there to be told about the characters.

I think the concept has had it's day and gone.

Blackhawks=New Checkmate? And what about Lady Blackhawk? Probably will follow Deathstroke and Hex but that about it from this group. Is anyone here keeping a running list of the number of titles released so far?

Have they announced their plans for Wonder Woman? If not, that makes a fifth to-be-revealed title.

46 titles have been announced so far, so six to go. Action Comics, Superman, Superboy, and Supergirl will account for four of them.

Maybe Superboy will be exclusive to the Titan's title. I can't see him walking around Smallville with that tattoo on his arm and keeping a secret identity.

Bleeding Cool has reported that Scott Lobdell will be writing a Superboy solo title, and Lobdell seemed to confirm that in an interview he did in the last couple of days.

I see guys who have Superman and Batman shield tattoos almost every day.

I imagine the kid can find a way to hide it if he likes. Or maybe he'll ditch the secret identity thing altogether.

Looks like Marvel is following DC's example with their longest-running title:

I don't see this as following DC's lead at all. This was likely in the cards some time ago behind the scenes.

Marvel also announced about two months ago that Incredible Hulks would be ending, a solo announcement like this one with X-Men.

When/If Marvel comes out and says they are canceling all their titles simultaneously and doing 50 #1 issues then you can say they are following DC's lead. This, with X-Men, is a one off.

What are the odds of Power Girl getting a book, do you reckon?
Books that we haven't heard anything of yet include Justice Society of America, the Zatanna solo title, Secret Six, and Power Girl. I think chances are good for Power Girl to continue in her own title, although I suppose they might just make use of her in a JSA book.

I wonder if Amanda Conner will be on any of the last six.
I think she's currently unavailable as she's working on an independent creator-owned project.

Hate to ask the obvious, but isn't DC always rebooting their universe?
To some extent they are but the reboots we've seen play out over the last 10-15yrs have mostly been character driven. With DC using it as an opportunity to reshape, clean up, reintegrate and weed out confusing/contridictory backstory to characters like Power Girl, The Hawks or like with Brightest Day Swamp Thing's back.

This, on the surface, seems much more grand in scope.

I mean a Jonah Hex in 19th century Gotham?
Martian Manhunter on the Wildcats team?

Big mixups and resetting of the status quo it seems.

I had a thought about our missing Batgirls: Helena, Cass and Steph. All three have had the title Batgirl, even though Helena's was short during NML, she was one. Like Steph's short tenure as a Robin. What if DC did a book that featured all 3 of them working together in some capacity within the Batgirl book that is going to be headlined by Barbara? They would essentially be relegated to support roles and would feel like a Birds of Prey book redo, which is why I know it's not on the table but I'm still trying to reconcile where these 3 characters are going to be.
