If this new re-re-re-re-boot is just another Earth in the multiverse, I guess I can live with that. DC's got enough of them already.

From the art posted, it looks like this one is trying to make a star out of Cyborg. (Where's J'onn J'onzz? Big Seven isn't Big Seven without J'onn.) Superman lost his shorts. And Hal Jordan now sports phallic weaponry constructs over the classic boxing glove. What makes this reboot different from all of those other reboots?

So "Superman: Earth One" and "Batman: Earth One: are all erased from the current timelines? I actually have mixed feelings about this but will wait and see how it goes. If the stories are good a'la Superman: Birthright, it'll be all for the better. I personally was thinking the other day that DC should wipe the slate with everything and start afresh.
No one has stated anything about Superman: Earth One Volume Two yet...
"No effect at all," JMS told Newsarama when asked if the reboot would effect the second volume of Superman: Earth One. "The book is already a re-imagining of sorts, and DC is very happy to leave that alone in its own separate arena. The changes affect the monthly books, not the Earth One line, which operate outside that continuity.
"Oddly enough, the only effect kind of works in the opposite direction, as Superman Earth One was a bit of a proof-of-concept that you could reconsider and remake the characters with a contemporary thrust and it'll work. It did.
"What Dan[DiDio] is doing is correct, massively gutsy and long overdue. More power to him."
No. It's the only DC Comic shipping the last week in August.Wait...Flashpoint #5 is the only DC comic shipping in August?@Broccoli...it's Post-Flashpoint. Flashpoint#5 is the only comic shipping from DC in August. Then Sep...the reboot starts.![]()
If this reboot is done well it will please bot the longtime and new fans..and get new people involvedNewbie: I was browsing this issue 509 of Gamma Man in the local store yesterday and it seems like a cool book to read, but I was wondering if its good for a newbie like me?
Veteran: Well, if you really want to read it, you should first buy the trades "Mission to Mars", "Gammas Revenge" and "Boom to Gloom"..plus definetely buy the issues 100-293 and 480-508 so you can get up to speed with the current storyline.
And also you should get issues 120-125 of Wonder Girl..and issues 36-39 of Mega Marvelous that concludes the Danger Zone-saga where Gamma Man was transported to the alternate universe of Zron..where he fought Gorz, lost part of his powers and was then transported back in time into his younger self..and gained new superpowers.
Newbie: Woah..that sounds like lot to buy. I am not sure if I want to get all that.
Veteran: Well, you can also read all that stuff from wikipedia or somewhere else, though I wont find from there the time when Mega Man teamed with Death Squad..
Newbie: Ah..thanks a lot. Maybe I rather buy the latest Mickey Mouse instead..will be easier to get into.
There's less bitching and more open-mindedness than I expected actually. Anyway, it happened to me in 1986, too, and most of the comics that followed were better than the pre-Crisis ones.I just think it's funny that people are bitching about the very same thing that happened to me in 1986. Get over it, kiddies. This is what happens when they try to tie every damn character into every damn "arc" (whatever happened to just telling a story?). They end up with a complete mess and have to reboot.
I, for one, am laughing my ass off.
Kind of a dick move on Bleeding Cool's part.
^ Not if it's not true.

DC did something similar back in '94, with Zero Hour #0.

I disagree. If a site is supposed to be devoted to comics news, then this is a huge story - one that shouldn't be kept private as a "favor" to the publishers.
Yes, but we are not talking about world events here that will affect someone's life. We're talking about comics. Stories. Clearly, DC had a plan on how they were going to reveal this information, and Bleeding Cool decided to blow it.
I kinda see it along the lines of a news site spoiling a movie ending.![]()
