It'd be pretty funny putting the octopus on the stand in its own defense though.

DC is doing something smart and collecting the bulk of the Flashpoint tie-in series in one volume for release in March.

So, how many of the many-many-many Flashpoint tie-ins do you think will actually feature into the final issue? How many of these many side characters will actually appear in the final issue? Or figure into the climax in some important way? I just really feel that 90% of these books are absolutely superfluous aside from Batman (just cause it was actually GOOD), Aquaman, Wonder Woman.
^ Almost none of them have anything to do with Flashpoint proper. They're mostly backstory or events that take place congruent to Flashpoint and the last issues have wrapped up their own storylines. I have yet to read World of Flashpoint 2 and 3 so I'm not sure about Traci 13 yet.
Unless they have a twist coming up, Flashpoint #4 spoiled Hal Jordan #3.
Speaking of Flashpoint #4, I got it this past week and was very disappointed. Maybe my opinion was colored by the very first line of the book:
"Transition" and "change" mean the same thing! That quote basically amounts to "Our world is in a violent change of great change."

^ I wonder if they were't poking fun of Obama's usage and political speak with that opening line myself.
Also forget what I said about Traci 13. Both she and her father are currently depowered after the events of World of Flashpoint Along with the Flashes and Booster, she was one of the last few who had knowledge of the previous reality.

Twice in my life time, they've changed size/weight/colour/metallurgy of the coin currency in my country... In either case it was a transition of great change. Especially the screaming in your headed expressed each time you'd find mounds of old change in your house suddenly valueless illegal tender.
Good question. To be honest, I'm guessing that only the Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Project Superman books are going to factor into the final story. Perhaps Batman's as well.
I think Aquaman and Wonder Woman because those books provide the background for their war. Project Superman because he has to come back and save the day, along with Batman (who's book at least reinforces the decision he makes to help Flash). As for the rest, we'll probably get to see them in some big fight panels, but I don't see how they can possibly give each miniseries character enough time for closure.
It sucks in a way, especially for Outsider, because I thought he had the makings to be a great villain. I hope he sticks around post-Flashpoint.
I'm thinking there will be no "saving the day" considering we're getting a totally new reality at the end of this. Something "big" must happen to create an entirely new universe.

I think saving the day will at least happen in the sense that the war between Aquaman and Wonder Woman will be bought to a close. Also, someone's going to have to stop King Brion.

Issue four and five are going to be interesting. There is still a ton of plot that they have to cover and the two page explanation will be interesting.
Yeah "Flashpoint" has been my least liked Johns work and I went into it excited as usual. The only tie in that I've flat out enjoyed was "Batman: Knight of Vengeance" The second issue of Project: Superman and I was quite fond of the panel where little Kal-El was projecting teenage Lois Lane. It was also disheartening to see what became of Krypto. I can only imagine what they've done to Kara in Flashpoint as they've mentioned Subject One. Kal is subject Zero while Krypto was subject two.
