DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

I won't be watching. Not just because of Miller, but also I would have been forced to watch a 70-something Michael Keaton play Batman after 30 years. Forget it.
The Flash is the least interesting of these heroes so it's a pass for me. Keaton as Batman was never my favorite so that's not a draw.

I never thought much of Keaton as Batman, but he impressed me as Adrian Toomes in Spider-Man: Homecoming. So I'm curious to see what he does with the role this time.

(Or rather, I felt that Tim Burton made a perfectly good Tim Burton superhero movie, but I would've preferred it if he hadn't called his superhero Batman, because I didn't see much similarity.)

I have a curiosity about the story, but short, balding, out of shape comedic actor Keaton was one of the worst acts of casting in film history, and it was all thanks to Burton not wanting a "Square-jawed hero" (his words in 1989) cast as Batman. That alone illustrated how his own insecurities meant more than consistency with any version of the character, ultimately twisting the image of Batman right out of the gates, and the very reason I do not care about his appearance in The Flash.

Thankfully, Keaton will not be in Aquaman 2)--instead getting another outing of Affleck's great version of Batman.

I'd watch it for Keaton as Batman. I am fond of those 2 Tim Burton Batman movies, and I know this is the actor, costume and car transplanted into someone else's something else, but... nostalgia and curiosity.

I thought Ezra was great in ZS's JL but... oof. Fucking oof.

(N)ewly installed Warner Bros. Pictures Group chiefs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, in seeking to mend fences with “Batgirl” star Leslie Grace, are entertaining the possibility of having her continue to play Batgirl in a future DC film (or, at least, star in another Warner Bros. production).

Probably in a movie in which she IS NOT the main protagonist. I hope I'm wrong. But if I'm not, I find their generosity wanting.

If they end up doing this, I could see them using her in a Birds of Prey/Harley Quinn 2. HQ/the BOP have to deal with Batgirl interrupting whatever goal they have until they end up teaming up to beat the villain or whatever, it seems like this would be a great place to insert Batgirl without messing with the more dark stuff of The Batman. The first BoP more then doubled its budget theatrically even though it was released right as the pandemic was getting into full swing, so its a successful property with an actress (Margot Robbie) that WB would probably love to keep working with.

The only problem with that plan is that a HQ/BoP 2 would probably still be rated R and they seemed to be going for more of a general audience with the Grace version of Batgirl, but its just the first thing that came to mind.

She'll probably be in a Robin movie. We need a Robin MOVIE. Yes the character has been on TV and cartoons for the past 20 years but we definitely need a new movie version after Chris O'donnell's portrayal.

Robin teaming up with Batgirl to take down the mob would be a good movie if done properly.

Also as if you needed another reason to stay off twitter

#EZRAMILLERISINNOCENT is trending on twitter. Looks like people believing there is 0 evidence and the 'witnesses' are made up.

Robin movie? I'll believe that when I see it. Robin is my favorite character but I don't see a movie being carried by that character.

I seriously doubt Robin will launch as a solo film--he has to be brought in though his partnership with Batman. He's still seen in the early Dick Grayson mold--the eternal teen sidekick. Yes, there's been a live action Robin adapted since the two 1940s serials--forward, but again, the chance of a Robin solo movie is a stretch.

Nightwing - Yes. I fully expected he'd be replacing Batman when Affleck was retiring and Keatens Batman was becoming the elder statesman of the JL (now, who knows) but Robin? I don't think so.

Is there any reason she should believe anything they say to her at this point? I'd like to see the Batgirl movie, but I wouldn't blame her if she never wanted anything to do with them again. There are still characters that haven't shown up in the MCU (Tigra, Flamebird, Firestar, Invisible Woman, all the female X-Men characters...) if she wants to play a super hero.

Also, Dick and Barbara have their on again/off again thing that's been going on forever.

Yeah. Every forum I've visited on this topic has cracked down hard on making sure to use the right terminology when referring to Ezra Miller

Jesus, bit OTT. I had no idea Ezra Miller was anything of the sort until I saw this. Just some dude who played the Flash and was that prick kid in We Need To Talk About Kevin
I couldn't care less about a celeb/actors private life. Banning someone for not giving a f about that is ridiculous

It's not their "private life," because it's about how they ask to be addressed and identified by other people, which is by definition a public matter. If I say I prefer to go by Christopher, nobody would say "I don't care, I'm gonna call you Chip instead." That would just be rude and petty. It's the most elementary norm of everyday courtesy to respect other people's choices for what they want to be called. That's no different for pronouns than it is for given names.
