DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

Best of all, no Leto Joker.

Interesting to see David Dastmalchian here, because (in addition to his Ant-Man role for Marvel) he's played a DC character already, Abra Kadabra on The Flash.

A lot like like Djimon Hounsou. Who played roles in both Captain Marvel and Shazam this year.

I'm loving that Suicide Squad cast list, and having no Leto is a huge plus. I actually found the first movie to be a "so bad its enjoyable" film, I definitely like it better then Snyder's DC films, but this Gunn movie will probably end up being an actually great movie, which will be awesome because I'm a fan of the Suicide Squad in the comics (mostly the first run, not the later stuff with New 52 Harley/etc, but I like the premise in general) and I've wanted to see a good Squad movie.

Any guesses on who bites it first? For some reason, I'm thinking it will be whoever John Cena plays. Basically pull the same thing that the first movie did with Slipknot, but with a character played by a more recognizable actor that people won't expect to die so early. That's just a random guess, though.

I don't see Polka Dot Man making it through the movie, he's just such a goofy character I can't see him lasting to long.

I'm seeing people over on Tor.com reacting to the Suicide Squad cast list by saying "I refuse to see this movie if there's no Leto Joker." And I'm thinking, "What?" Suicide Squad is not a Joker vehicle. It doesn't revolve around him. It never included Harley Quinn until long after she broke with him and became an independent antiheroine. There's no reason why a SS movie needs to have the Joker in it, no matter who plays him.

The only reason they had Joker in the first one was his connection to Harley. It looks Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will deal with the end of their relationship, so as long as this is the same Harley Quinn after Birds of Prey, there's no reason for the Joker to be in The Suicide Squad.

The more regrettable loss by far is Will Smith, who was great in the first one (not that I had any problem with Leto).
