DC Comics: Rebirth

Instead, its goodbye to the non-Hal stuff just so Grant Morrison can produce another mediocre, incoherent mind fuck of a book. The guy hasn't turned out a good story since he got too famous for DC to have actual editors restrain his worst tendencies as a writer,

Somewhat ironically, IMO he did more than anyone else to legimitize Kyle Rayner as the 'last' Green Lantern (mainly on his JLA 1997-2006) than most back then.

Uh-oh.

Wolverine stayed dead a while but that was more marketing strategy regarding the film side of Marvel comics. I don't think Harley would be the character killed because she is just too popular--if it were then it would be part of a larger story line and she would return fairly quickly.

I think it will be Karl Rayner.
Isn't thar the Amalgam Universe's version of Kyle Rayner and Carl Reiner?
Are we sure that's Damian--did he change his boots recently?
I'm not sure myself, but even if it's Tim Drake it would feel repetitive. His "death" and return are even more recent than Damian's. Come to think of it, I think Dick is the only Robin who never dies, and I'm not even sure about him never dying.

So just for my own curiosity, is Harley more of a semi-hero at the moment? I know she's been one of the characters in Birds of Prey at times, but I haven't really kept up with a lot of modern issues.

Yeah, kinda. I haven't kept up with her comics either but they made her an anithero at the start of New 52 and since then she's mostly fallen on the Chaotic Neutral, leaning to Good side of the scales.

I can see that. I was mainly curious since she naturally started as a villain, and in some iterations is arguably as insane as the Joker (or at least pretty close :D).

Is anyone picking up the new Bendis-written Superman books? I really like the paper stock they're using on Superman. It really makes the colours pop.

I am! I don't keep up with comics, but I figured starting with Superman #1 would be a good place to jump back on board. Personally I'm loving the first two issues and watching Superman cope without his family just tugs at the heartstrings. I also picked up Action Comics 1001. It's an ok story, not nearly as interesting as to what's going on over in the Superman book. Personally I'm not understanding the Bendis hate I'm reading on the internet.

I got my monthly subscription package in the mail yesterday, haven't gotten all through it and haven't read the Superman books yet (I read in order from least favorite to most favorite, because I'm weird that way). I took a quick look to see the paper. Yeah, it is different than their usual thick half-glossy stock. It's less reflective, that's for sure. From the touch, it feels a bit rougher than the usual. But yeah, looks good.

While going through one of the first books, I came upon that two-page ad for "Heroes in Crisis", and I noticed that some of the characters from that DC Nation cover were in the art. Couldn't find the ad online, but it's the same as the cover art, so:

You'll notice right away, Harley, Booster and Cyborg are right there in the foreground. Damian is also quite visible between Wally West and the Martian Manhunter. Tim Drake is way in the background, but he's there, behind Alfred (it's clearer it's him in the printed ad). Arsenal is there, behind Barry Allen. Which leaves Kyle Rayner. Can't find Rayner in the art, so I guess he's my candidate to die.

I already pre-ordered Heroes in Crisis. It sounds really interesting.

I’m enjoying both Bendis Superman books, but I’m actually enjoying the story in Action Comics more.
