DC Comics: Rebirth

Okay, so I was totally braced to hate it, but Bendis' Superman, so far, has been pitch perfect. Maybe moving on from Marvel was just the re-energizing boost he needed.

I'm a bit disappointed to hear Geoff Johns is stepping away from the movies and TV, I was actually hoping he'd get more creative control over the movies.

If it means he's writing more comics, then good. Let the movies keep sinking, I'm loving the comics since Rebirth.

He's writing and producing the Green Lantern Corps movie, and he's working on Titans and Doom Patrol.
I'd rather see him do three things right, than half-ass a dozen things.

I only get my new comics every two weeks so I've only read the first issue of "Man of Steel", but I really liked it. I liked the introduction of the new deputy fire chief.

As for Johns, I look forward to green Lantern Corps and I'll probably check out Shazam. Hopefully he makes Billy a little less angry.

Batgirl's new costume (designed by Sean Gordon Murphy, set to debut in "Batgirl" #27) is nice. Except for the mask. The mask sucks. Makes me think of the Alicia Silverstone version.

How does she get the ears sticking up through her hair like that?
I was just about to ask about that too.
The ears the only part of the costume I don't like, it looks a bit weird IMO, with the ears just kind of randomly on the top of her head. If there was a visible headband or if they were attached to the mask it would't bother me as much.

DC Comics' Iconic 100-Page Giants Are Coming Back| CBR

Four new 100-page monthly series, with a new story per issue and rounded up by reprints, $4.99 per issue, starting in July.

Superman Giant starts with a new 2-part story written by Jimmy Palmiotti and art by Tom Derenick, featuring reprints of "Green Lantern" (2005) #1, "Superman/Batman" (2003) #1, and the pretty recent "The Terrifics" #1.

Teen Titans Giant begins with a 6-part story by writer Dan Jurgens and art by Scot Eaton, Wayne Faucher & Jim Charalampidis, with reprints of "Super Sons" (2017) #1, "Sideways" (2018) #1, and "Teen Titans" (2003) #1.

The original story in Batman Giant is a done-in-one by writer Jimmy Palmiotti and artist "Patch" Zircher, with reprints of "Batman" #608 (first Hush), "Nightwing" (2011) #1, and "Harley Quinn" (2011) #1.
With issue #3 starts a 12-part by Brian M. Bendis.

JLA Giant #1 features a stand-alone original Wonder Woman story written by Tim Seeley and art by Rick Leonardi & Steve Buccellato, with reprints of "Justice League" (2011) #1, "The Flash" (2011) #1, and "Aquaman" (2011) #1. The original feature will apparently stick with Wonder Woman solo stories.

Sounds all very good, especially for that price. My problem is that these will be Walmart Exclusives, so good luck on Ebay aside, we Europeans won't be getting our hands on these books (which really pisses me off). At least, it stands to reason that the original stories will be collected at a later date.

You think it's bad being a Wal-Mart customer.... try working there, it's pretty much a living hell at this point. At least I should be able to use my associate discount to get some $$$ taken off of these.

My brother has a lot of horror stories working at Wal-Mart, so you have my sympathy

As for these 100 page giants, they seem cool. I go to Wal-Mart fairly often, so if I seem them at the right time I might pcik a few up.

I'm just wondering where they are going to be shelved. We have had some trades back with the rest of the books in electronics, but we also have Marvel and DC single issue three packs with the trading cards and collectibles up front by the registers.

Bendis' Superman books got their own TV commercial:
