DC Comics: Rebirth

Quite possibly. This used to be the norm for several writers to work for both companies simultaneously. Mark Waid, Chuck Dixon, even Geoff Johns writing The Flash and JSA at DC while also writing The Avengers and a few mini-series over at Marvel. Greg Rucka also wrote for DC and Marvel during the early 2000s. I remember that it was actually a pretty big deal about ten years ago when they started doing exclusive contracts.

I'm a bit surprised that Wilson isn't exclusive to Marvel. I would have expected them to want to keep her all to themselves after the success of Ms. Marvel.

1) Exclusive agreements are expensive (since there is benefits involved). And the leadership of Marvel Comics under Perlmutter is more cost conscious than before.
2) The success of Ms. Marvel isn't just because of Wilson. Her editor Sanat Amanat, herself a Pakistani-America, is also seen as having played a role .

The follow-up to the soon-ending "Hal Jordan & the Green Lantern Corps" will be "The Green Lantern" by Grant Morrison & Liam Sharp. It centers around Hal Jordan's day-to-day space cop activities instead of large, epic story arcs.

As for the GL Corps, I'd guess that they'll be more integrated into the "Green Lanterns" book.

I miss Green Lantern the Animated Series. One of the best sci-fi cartoons ever, with a trek like feel at times.

Can't recommend it enough.

I always wondered if the comics are adapted the unique new cartoon characters from the show.

The solicits for October are out, and it appears "Green Lanterns" will also end its run, with issue #57.

Well that sucks. Green Lanterns is the best GL book since 2011. There have been a few bad issues, but overall its been very good and it actually made me like Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz as GL's, when I didn't care about Jessica and thought Simon sucked when they were introduced (Jessica in a lame event and Simon when the New 52 started). I guess shoving Hal Jordan in everyone's face as THE Green Lantern is DC's main strategy, which sucks. Now I know how Kyle Rayner fans felt when Johns brought back Hal in the first place, and based on that I doubt we'll ever see Jessica or Simon get a book focusing on them ever again (like how John stewart and Guy gardner have basically just been supporting characters in books at best for decades at this point).

Well, its one less DC book to read which saves time, but since Marvel doesn't put out many good books either right now my comic reading feels pretty thin at this point.

Jessica Cruz is the best thing to happen on the DC side in a long while. Simon's all right too.
Hope they find a way to feature them, and not let them get drowned out by the oldies.

If Stewart and Jessica are now the JL Green Lanterns then Baz and Gardner will probably land into whatever corresponding GL Corps related book happens. Anything that made Rayner special seems to have been ignored these past couple of years. Regarding Cruz/Baz, like with the recent JLA and Titans book it is a shame to see so much invested in developing characters dynamics just to have the line ups changed or cancelled. Hopefully the writing on the new books will be good.

I used to be ok with Geoff Johns and DC's near obsession with trying to make Hal THE Green Lantern even though Kyle Rayner and John Stewart had become THE Green Lanterns to different fans (Kyle for comic fans for a fairly long period of time and John from fans that grew up with the JL cartoon), but at this point I'm beyond sick of Hal Jordan being pushed. He's an ok character, but maybe let him spend more time in the background and let the other (more interesting) GL's get to keep the spotlight.

Instead, its goodbye to the non-Hal stuff just so Grant Morrison can produce another mediocre, incoherent mind fuck of a book. The guy hasn't turned out a good story since he got too famous for DC to have actual editors restrain his worst tendencies as a writer, and I doubt his Hal Jordan book is going to change my mind about either his modern work or of Hal being "THE" Green Lantern.
