DC Comics: Rebirth

With the JSA coming back is there room for Earth 2? Will Earth 2 somehow morph into the JSA?

It seems as if Martian Manhunter is ending but Hitch's JLA is going to continue? I thought there was supposed to be a new JLA series starting bi-monthly?

As I recall the current JLA series will continue until the current storyline concludes. The JL rebirth series will start before JLA concludes. (Worse than time travel amiright?)

Well Hitch's JLA just seemed completely out of whack with the rest of the DC universe anyway, even more so than Darkseid War. Both were good stories though. What I was disappointed in was when JLU switched teams after Convergence. I really enjoyed that first arc even if it did seem out of sync with what we read in the LSH before it was cancelled (which was a good thing IMO).

Is the LSH coming back? Remains my first favourite comic series and team (first comic I remember buying was the issue where Tyroc joined the Legion in the Mike Grell days).

Both JL titles were telling their own stories. You have to imagine they happened between the arcs of the other books.

Hitch's current JLA is canceled to be resolicited at a later date.

The Legion, like the JSA, will return as some future unannounced date.

Hasn't the Legion of Superheroes been gone since 2013? Maybe 2014? I'm apparently one of the 5 people who liked Levitz's last LSH run both pre and post New 52 reboot (Legion Lost was terrible, though). I'd love to see them return.I don't think they've even been referenced since their cancellation except in that recent Rebirth cameo. But, DC has pretty much put the whole group in limbo, which sucks. If they do bring them back, I really hope they don't reboot them again.

Legion has been gone since 2013. i do wonder what direction the Legion will take once it comes back. i feel like another reboot will just further muddle things.

The Dominators dropped a "genebomb" that removed almost everyone's super powers. In the final issue, Earth's heroes had to fight the Dominion Alliance powerless.

There was still at least seven Green Lanterns on Earth at the time.

Idiots.

Well, not the Dominators dropped the bomb, but one rogue Dominator, who was punished for it by the rest of the Dominators.

Idiot. As in one.

The bomb actually made the powers of heroes who had the metagene go wild. Green Flame became Fire due to this genebomb.

And this was post the destruction of the GLC, so only Hal, John, and Guy had rings.

As I've said, I recently read "Invasion", and I distinctly remember both Kilowog and G'nort appearing in the pages of the miniseries.

How did 'old' Superman and Lois get into the New 52 ? Did any more characters make the jump ?

That happened at the end of the "Convergence" event last year. Superman, Lois and their new-born son were brought to the New 52 Earth (of the past, actually, since they've been on this Earth for about nine years). As far as we know, they were the only ones.

Although, Rebirth has created some questions about this, too.

Hal Jordan made it as well - he popped up in the GL title recently.

He crossed into New52 like Superman and Lois and kid? Must have missed that bit in the Convergence series. I should go back and check it out.

The original Wally West is from the pre-52 Earth as well, along with Lois and Clark. Granted, he was lost in the Speed Force while the Kents were shunted from one Earth to another via the Convergence.

This kind of nonsense is exactly why I stopped following mainstream comics. I just want interesting stories with compelling characters. I don't want to have to do long division just to keep track of of who's who, where and why.

I'm still enjoying some titles from the big two, but I also feel like the independent stuff is a lot more interesting.

I've never had trouble following stuff like that. Its part of the fun, honestly. The large number of characters and their history are some of the reasons I think no independent comic or company will ever match DC or Marvel. They just don't have the characters the Big 2 have. Even bad DC/Marvel comics are generally better then most indy stuff because the characters are more compelling, even in bad stories. At least in my opinion.
