All of those look cool. I still prefer the classic Superman and Batman designs, but these ones are fine and an improvement over the original New 52 designs. They're all improvements over the original new 52 designs, actually. Hopefully the writing quality of the books matches the quality of the redesigns.

I actually liked the high collar on Superman. Jim Lee must have been channelling TNG when he designed the New 52 costumes.

It still looks like they're edging towards Stephen Amell's look, just a bit.

With the costume, yes. Otherwise, his hair is brighter than Amell's, he's got more hair on top than Amell, and, as mentioned, the classic goatee instead of Amell's stubbles.

The newer designs are superior to 52, but the classic look is still better.

Not too bad, other than Supergirl being sent back to cheerleader camp.

Glad to see that there's no inclination to put Supes back in the little red Speedo; they've actually further reduced the red accents on his outfit by eliminating the boots.

Not bad. It's definitely a bit more basic than the one they've been using.

I like the logo--it has more of a classic pre-seventies Bullet Logo feel to it. The costume designs are definitely inspired by, if not exact replicas, of the live action costumes. I also noticed that Supergirl will now be joining the DEO in her ongoing monthly, so it will be interesting to see how other television/cinematic elements will be introduced.

I never understood the current logo. You can not really indentify the initials which is company's whole name. I wish they would go back to the old Bullet but this at least works.

Look at Warner Bros. They had variations over the years but also go back to the classic logo. This has as much to do with tv shows and movies, more actually, than the comics. which most people will see this. even all the DVDs will show this. Good move to make this change.

Reminds me of the logo they used in the 70s.

My memory is poor of course, I changed my post to better reflect what I meant. I didn't realize that the bullet wasn't adopted until 1977--I could have sworn it was earlier than that.

This morning I read all six parts published so far of "The Last Days of Superman." I'd read the first when it came out, then had to wait for second printings of the next two, which came out last week, and finally had the time to read them all.

This story, frankly, isn't very good.

Due to various, recent adventures, Superman is dying. Meanwhile, his solar flare power has taken on a life of its own, possesses the body of a paroled felon, and believes that it's really Superman. So while Superman mopes, tells his friends individually that he's dying, has an adventure with his friends in turn, then goes off to another friend and another adventure, Solar Flare Superman is trying to assume Clark Kent's life and destroy the Superman so that it can be the One, True Superman.

It's so drawn out. I was done with the six published chapters in about twenty minutes. I kept thinking, "Back in the Ordway/Jurgens/Stern/Simonson days, this would have been a four-part story." Some parts are clearly set-up for the post-Rebirth status quo -- what's happening with Supergirl, where the New Super-Man comes from. (Where the sixth part leaves New-52 Lois, I have a suspicion how she becomes Superwoman -- the Solar Flare power will possess her. Alternatively, she could become the host of the pre-Flashpoint non-Kryptonian Superwoman suit that killed Lucy Lane. But I like the first idea better.) But the moment that I really wanted to see -- the meeting of the two Kal-Els -- didn't feel as momentous as it should. Really, nothing about this story feels momentous; Superman is dying, and I don't care.

Two more chapters, and then Rebirth.

I was disappointed with that too. Hopefully we'll get a little more interaction between them in the next chapter.

I am just finishing the Vandal Savage story line--which I actually really enjoyed. I certainly hope that the new52 Superman isn't killed off entirely because there has been a lot of pretty good stuff over the past five years. Yes, it's been a mixed bag but it always has been.

Yeah, for all the crap given to the New 52 Superman, I thought it was an interesting take on him. Then when gave is the Lois & Clark series we were getting the best of both worlds.

And in chapter seven, we got...

    No interaction at all!

There's 20 pages of this story left. I figure that...
Batman returns to the White farm. Superman and Wonder Woman continue to fight Solar Flare.

Lois gets herself a helicopter and returns to the White farm.

    Supergirl shows up.

As Superman and his "team" fight Solar Flare, Superman continues to expend his energy and weakens.

Pre-Flashpoint Superman (why don't I call him Superman-Prime?) arrives, once he's finished talking with Jon.

When they finally defeat Solar Flare, his energy blasts out, restoring Supergirl's powers and giving Lois powers.

Superman dies, passing on the mantle of the Last Son of the House of El to Superman-Prime, who he realizes is himself.

Last page, Superman-Prime ditches the black and silver costume for a blue and red costume.

Could this be the Rebirth Joker design? It is from a variant cover, which the writer admits don't always reflect the actual design, but I'm thinking this will probably be it. I can definititly see a big Jared Leto influence here. I like it.
