DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Ah but you know some operate from the selective outrage mindset, thus they have to make Cain out to be some Hitler of Hollywood, when he's less than a blip on the radar compared to the magnitude of true evil committed by others in that business.
He's worse than Hitler. Would Hitler have pointed out that Alcock looks like Chaka from Land of the Lost? I think not.

As I mentioned in my original post, from the start of the advertising campaign for this, I've thought, "Why doesn't she look beautiful? Why are they making her look ugly?"

Why is that even a priority for you? Nobody complains if a male action hero is depicted in a roughed-up, unglamorous way. It's quite obvious that this version of Supergirl is not concerned with vanity or appearance. She's an emotional mess, a hard drinker, and a scrappy fighter. Why would you expect her to be prettied up? How could that possibly serve this version of the character or the story they're telling about her?

Fascinating. Does this properly introduce Batman into the DCU or is it a separate thing? If so, it's an intriguing way to keep Batman in the story while the non-related Batman movies with Robert Patterson are being produced.

I think it's high time this movie got its own thread.

Just bought tickets, one for Wednesday Night previews (German dub) and one for Monday night, when they actually do screen the film in English. I like to imagine my Email made a difference there.

Anyway, if nobody beats me to it, I'll probably start a film-specific review thread when I get back on Wednesday.

Wait, how did I not know we were getting a Batman puppet movie?
First a Strange New Worlds puppet episode and now a Batman puppet movie, it's like someone is going into my mind to see what is most likely to make me lose my mind and are then making it.

Seems to me the main question is: was this story about her worth telling in the first place?

Personally, after Man of Steel and BvS, I'm completely over stories about non-charming Kryptonians, regardless of gender. I saw Superman in the theater because I got charming vibes from Corenswet's performance, which the movie, which was only okay overall, delivered. But, based on Kara's unpleasant cameo in that movie, and this poor review from critic Christy Lemire (who singles out the movie's action as incoherent, a particular demerit for a superhero flick), this is almost certainly a skip for me, even though I have a 3-month AMC A-list subscription, and could walk to the theater and see it for no additional cost.

Lemire's YouTube partner Alonso Duralde didn't care for it, either:
