Feels like an overdose of Super-characters. Seems like there's a lot more that could/should be started.

The old DCFU probably SHOULD have started with JUstice League, and immeidately followed up by Man of STeel, and then whoever the breakout character was (likely Wonder Woman at that time), and then JUstice League 2, with more characters/entries to follow.

So, what you're describing is George Miller's "Justice League: Mortal", which was set to film in 2007 and debut in 2008.
Start with the Justice League fully formed for the first part of the trilogy, then spin offs from that, followed by second movie and spin offs from that, finishing up with the third movie.

I'm hoping that we're getting two or three other live action movies during the next few years as well.

On top of Clayface, they're also working on The Brave & The Bold, and Wonder Woman, so it shouldn't be too long before those two come out.
