No.So i jus watched Creature Commandos...
To me, this was a "scam" by James Gunn to get a pet project done, before a possible failure of the DCOU.
He totally fooled Zaslav into making this . Gunn seemd to me have written this as he was writing The Suicide Squad, possibly as a sequel to TSS,
It VERY much feels like James' Gunn's personal humor and tastes.. A lot of references from the 80's. Unnecessary sex. & swearing plus lots of callous death....
He makes jokes against right wing sterotypes, but then creates a show that appeals to many of their desires.
Definitely some good reasons why this has not been heralded as the beginning of the DCOU.
My family was excited to see Guardians of the Galaxy 3, for example, when it opened. But i am glad i saw this furst... i dont think my family would gather 'round the TV to wacth it.
I am gonna assume that he will have acomplete tale for this season, but of course be open to a 2nd season, if somehow he is able to justify it (like a $2 billion Superman movie, or if this gets better ratings that Peacemaker).
Gunn definitley leaves a lot of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker in tact.... not sure if he will leave Circe open as a future Woder WOman villain.
So where does that leave the Snyderverse people who appeared in Peacemaker?
Gunn Decanonized it... though i suspect that if Superman takes off (pun intended), and we get a successful Justice League, then he might re-do that scene with 2 new actors in the DCOU.It leaves them o-u-t out. Gunn's been clear that scene is the primary thing -- perhaps the only thing -- from Peacemaker's first season that is not canon to his new DCU.

James Gunn is the guy who gave made Rocket & Groot work in 3 live actions movies, and Starro in The Suicide Squad, so if anyone can take the crazy Silver Age Superman stuff and make it work, it's him.Sure, and in fact numerous Silver Age characters and concepts have been successfully revisited and modernized in the comics and elsewhere. But we don't yet know how Gunn proposes to handle them, and "Silver Age!" is not a thing that, in isolation, fills me with anticipation. That's all I was saying. But as with most creative endeavors, execution is all.
I watched part of a video he posted on his Instagram, and Gunn said that he started working on both Creature Commandos and Superman before he was put in charge of the DCU.So i jus watched Creature Commandos...

I can't think of anything James Gunn has made that's appropriate for young kids, the only things he's made that aren't R are the Guardians of the Galaxy stuff, and PG Porn and I'm not sure if I'd really consider those appropriate for young kids. He did write the Scooby Doo movies, but he was just a hired gun or Gunn I guess, so they weren't really his movies.I watched the first two Creature Commandos episodes and they were fine. I am disappointed that it is not something a family with young kids can watch together. Also it does seem that he is keeping Peacemaker and the Suicide Squad as canon.
I imagine Zaslav has something to do with MAX? He/she needs programming for the network, and WB gets something out there to build publicity heading towards the new Superman film.
Seems like it is working the way it is supposed to. No scams involved.
I have no doubt CC was a pet project of Gunn, done the way he wants it. As like i was trying to say, that this was a "finished project" that could start the DCOU, before the tentpole of Superman.Zazlav is the CEO of WB/Discovery.

I see Guardians as a teenager and up type of movie...definitely PG-13. But also the realm of what could make the DCOU successful.I can't think of anything James Gunn has made that's appropriate for young kids, the only things he's made that aren't R are the Guardians of the Galaxy stuff, and PG Porn and I'm not sure if I'd really consider those appropriate for young kids. DC Omni Universe. They are having most of the media (from TV to movies to animation and even games) be connected.WTF is a DCOU? There’s a DCEU (now ended) and a DCU (the currently starting thing). Did I miss a memo?

When you say it, it is as @Set Harth understands, OH You.
In contrast to the Film Universe, which ignored the concurrent TV shows
I am from Chicago... so we call it Sears Tower, not Willis Tower, or Aldi's and Jewel's, where we consider the 's invisible on the signAh. So if I want to talk about the National Football League, I should ignore the acronym the league chose for itself and go with NAFL (National American Football League) and A) expect everyone else to know what I'm talking about, and B) imply the NFL isn't smart enough to come up with an appropriate acronym on their own? Could become a whole cottage industry. NATO? How close to the North Atlantic is Romania, exactly? USA. Shouldn't it be USNA? (Perhaps in the future...). The UN--I mean, its full name is The United Nations Organization, so shouldn't it be UNO? And so on...
So we're just making stuff up now?DC Omni Universe. They are having most of the media (from TV to movies to animation and even games) be connected.

But it's also not an Omniverse, at least not so far, because it is all set in one singular universe, except for the Elseworld projects which aren't connected at all.So we're just making stuff up now?
And wouldn't it just be "Omniverse"? DCO? Universe is still singular right?
