DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Which one? Dad Runs Oracle. Son runs Skydance. Does Daddy have input? Probably?
David Ellison technically bought paramount with his dad's money.
Most people seem to be expecting Skydance to be doing Trump's bidding, so it sounds like either the son is just as much of a Trumper, or he'll just be doing whatever dad wants him to.
Yes, Paramount approved Rush Hour 4 just because Trump wanted it.
Not "most people." Most people you apparently pay attention to.
Everyone who uses social media and follows news about Paramount actually thinks so.

No.

Netflix winning this one is the worst of all possible worlds.

At best it's going to take a couple of years for this transaction to all get sorted. Trump won't be much of a factor in anything by then.

Yeah, that's a good point, it already proves that they're willing to do his bidding. And you won't be able to convince me it was a coincidence, since he was pretty clearly blacklisted after the accusations against him, until now.

Because of your political perspective, you're having a hard time assessing the truth of what's being said online. Anyway; Trump will be leaving the US after 2029 anyway. Even if what's being said online is true (which I believe it is), if the Democrats win after 2029, or if a Republican comes to power who understands and accepts that diversity and Hollywood are different than they were 40 years ago, Paramount will have a different perspective on how to treat its own content.

That claim comes from a November Semafor article that didn't identify sources. Semafor is left-leaning, for the most part; there's certainly no reason to take the assertion at face value.
I saw plenty of legitimate sources also saying it, so I'm pretty sure it was true.
You keep misusing "prove" and "proof."
Past behavior is more than enough to prove something is likely to happen, especially when that behavior has consistently been repeated over years.

I was wondering about that, Disney has both Disney+ and Hulu, so it's not totally unheard of for a company to have two streaming services.

Larry Ellison, if the stories are to be believed, has said if he gets control of Warner Bros-Discovery/HBO, he's going to replace several key positions at CNN with NewsMax and Breitbart people loyal to trump.
Are they part of any deal? For the Netflix one they become part of a new company.

AI said: From Warner Bros. Discovery, Netflix is acquiring the entire studio, its vast film/TV library (including DC Universe, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Friends, classic films), the HBO Max streaming service, and the Warner Bros. Games division, creating a massive content powerhouse, though separate cable channels (CNN, TBS) are spun off. This deal gives Netflix legendary franchises and prestige programming, significantly expanding its content library and subscriber base, but faces intense regulatory scrutiny due to market dominance concerns.
What Netflix Gets (Assets Under Netflix):
Film & TV Studios: Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television.
Streaming Services: HBO Max.
Iconic Franchises & IP: DC Universe (Batman, Superman), Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Looney Tunes.
Classic Film Library: Casablanca, The Shining, The Wizard of Oz, Gone With the Wind, The Matrix, Mad Max, It.
HBO Brand: The entire HBO prestige television brand, including The Sopranos, Euphoria, The White Lotus.
Warner Bros. Games: The video game division.
What Stays With Warner Bros. Discovery (Discovery Global):
Cable Networks: CNN, TNT, TBS, HGTV, Discovery Channel (these form a new, separate publicly traded company).

My opinion is the Netflix deal appealed to WBD because they want non-entertainment assets to remain with the Discovery half.

“Star Trek” as the Most Incredibly Liberal Anything Ever is overstated — remember, this is the franchise that dragged its feet on featuring gay characters for decades, to the point it was bringing up the absolute rear in finally doing so — but it’s sillier to act like the growing takeover of major media outlets by Trump devotees is not a legitimate concern.

That was a studio network decision, not a creative one.

And CBS paid him something like 10 million dollars to settle the interview dispute, when it was actually because they needed him to approve the sale of the network.

Depends on the market. In Canada, Hulu is a subcategory you can use to filter some material for browsing purposes (similar tabs in the app for Marvel, Disney Kids, etc.) but if not selected, then all material is mixed on the main page. Hulu is not a separate service. I suspect the same thing happens in some other markets.

Of course, title lists are never identical across different markets owing to copyright holders differing in various countries.

I'm curious if there's any significance to the fact that they appear to be pulling all of the WB content off of Netflix? I'm curious if it'll all go back up once the sale is done, or if they'll keep all of the WB content on HBO Max only,
