DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

Well i just waatched my second, DC movie, is that what these are called, DC movies......the one with the Rock, and it was very good, quite a fun movie, the effects were very good indeed, and Brosnan was in this too, some real acting chops.

Now one thing, why are these not on Disney plus, i picked a br from the local secondhand shop with 4 of these movies on it........as i did not see them on Disney plus.

For those that aren't aware that version of Superman's logo is associated with the "Kingdom Come" Superman storyline.

They won't greenlight Batman Beyond animated movie, but they'll spend money on what you all really want....a Jurassic League movie

I mean I don't like Batman Beyond very much, but I also think that the Jurassic League was a lame idea in the comics, so I guess I'm neutral on getting either of them. But if james Gunn is producing the Jurassic League thing that definitely raises my interest a little.

Considering his track record with weird stuff being really fucking good, I'm willing to give this idea a shot. Never heard of it before btw.
But honestly.... With all the successes Marvel had before GotG, they could afford doing the odd one out back then. DC..... Not so much.

I'm assuming this will be an animated movie? However, rather than adapt some recent mini-series that I was only vaguely aware of, I'd much rather have a Captain Carrot movie.

Well, they do cite The InSneider, aka Jeff Sneider, who does indeed have contacts at WB, but also has a tendency to blow things out of proportion. "Gunn producing" might just as well be somebody gave an elevator pitch to somebody at WB, and that somebody said "keep working on the details, but Gunn has to sign off on it, as he's head of DC Movies and his name will be attached to anything DC".

Could be fun, but if this is true, it does seem like kind of an odd choice with so many options for DC Comics to adapt.

Rachel Brosnahan on last week's Superman: Legacy table read and the character of Lois Lane:
“It was pretty amazing,” Brosnahan told Variety’s Angelique Jackson about the “Superman” table read. “Some of us met for the first time. Some of us got to see each other again. It was amazing to hear the script out loud. As with all of these films, there’s a lot of action sequences and things. So to hear the pacing of the film and to get to hear these characters occupied by the actors who play them is really fun. It’s also a great group. You can’t ask for more than that when doing something like this.”

Brosnahan said she grew up watching Richard Donner’s “Superman” movies, which famously starred Christopher Reeve as the superhero and Margot Kidder as Lois Lane.

“I have always loved Lois Lane,” the actor added. “She’s smart, ambitious and can be funny. She knows she’s the smartest person in the room more often than not. When the opportunity came on…I’m such a fan of James Gunn from a far…we’re still finding these characters. We haven’t started shooting yet. You’ll meet the final version of them.”

Superman's budget will be 364m, which means it's going need to make almost a billion to reach profit.

Funnily enough Gunn denied the figure on Twitter but it's actually publicly available due to the tax credits they've claiming from Ohio.

They literally have a lot riding on this.... if it fails, it'll be the end of the DCOU....

I am wondering what the production schedule of Peacemaker season 2 is. If i were Gunn, i would have that set up and ready to go as soon as Superman filing is over.... make it real hard to completely trash (even with tax write offs)

Watching him as an older version of Clark Kent/Superman in the Arrowverse 'Crisis' episodes kind of shows that, unlike 'Superman Returns', with a better script and direction, Brandon was a good choice for the role. Would have been nice to see him one more time in a crossover with Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch on 'Superman and Lois'.
