Oh, okay. I thought you meant somewhere in Misc. I've never written any Star Trek poetry. Well, I have one that mentions the Borg, but I don't know if that counts. Anyway, I'll take a look at it.

Do you perform them at cons and such?

Not personally, since I can't carry a tune worth listening to, but others have performed them. My songs first "debuted" at BanffCon, many years ago. There was a panel on filking that year as well, and a group of us got together and wrote an X-Files filk, to the tune of "Help" (the Beatles song). My contribution to that was a whopping half a line, since at that time I was unfamiliar with most Beatles songs and had never watched the X-Files program.

I still have a copy of the lyrics somewhere around, though.

Is it just me or does it generally change with age? When I was a teenager I prefered working in the night. The older I got, the more my activities shifted towards the early morning and now I start work at 6 am and drop into bed as early as 8 pm.

This for me. In high school and college I would regularly be up working or hanging out until 2-3am, and then sleep until noon.
Now I get up at 5am and fall asleep around 9pm. My most productive time is before noon.

I play the electronic organ, but it's just not up to producing all the sounds I'm hearing in my mind for this song.

I never heard that one! My favorite filk tape (on audio cassette, since I never found it anywhere else, even online) is Songs of the Dorsai. These are based on Gordon Dickson's Dorsai series (aka Childe Cycle), and there are some fantastic songs on that.

Do you have an iPhone? There's an app called Garage Band that is pretty amazing (and free). My Brother is the musician in the family and he's created a couple of cool things with it. Here is a page he created for a class he was taking. If you can write music, you can probably reproduce anything in your head.

This is me, as well, miLady. I was always a night owl, yet as I got older and my health has declined, my internal clock has changed. At midnight, I get an attack of the yawns and, if I don't go to bed right away, I will fall asleep in my recliner.

Yes, I've got that CD. Another good filk CD is Horsetamer. "The Horsetamer's Daughter" is a notoriously long filk based on Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series, and tells the story of a young girl in the Ages of Chaos/Time of a Hundred Kingdoms and her family's struggle to remain free from domination by the aristocratic telepath caste.
