It's unusual, but the June 2005 book (Articles of the Federation) was also in some stores in the first week of the month, so it's not unprecedented.Is this some kind of record? A full 3 and a half weeks prior to the month it's scheduled? I know these things start showing up around the middle of the preceding month, but at the beginning?
While I understand what you are saying, It isn't possible to know how many books will sell in advance. How can you? Especially when every book is different.

Right. It's a crapshoot every time (see example below), but the bookstore still has to use the evidence it has to make a best guess.
