Dawn of the Eagles Now Out

Though what's not fair is that you would find maybe 25 copies of the new Star Wars title while the new Trek title will just have a measly 3 copies.

And yet, perhaps those 25 SW books will sit there for months, unsold and getting damaged, and the three ST books will fly off the shelves - or maybe the store had 22 copies already held as pre-orders. Hundreds of possibilities.

Maybe the publishers of SW have a pushy marketing person, or maybe they were offered a deal on something else to take more SW titles than normal? Stores also highlight certain series every so often. Maybe this month it's SW's turn.

Theres a review up. Barnes and Noble wont ship me the book so I canceled and placed it through amazon so its going to be a while before I can even start it. Oh well, I'm reading some KRAD in the meantime.

I'm gonna wait until my birthday and then order all three at one time... Looking forward to returning to Bajor!

Glad to see at least one of these books get going without dragging its heels for quite a while before getting going good. Day of the Vipers was the worst of the three, although I understand that it probably had to happen in order to introduce everyone and set everything up. Night of the Wolves wasn't as bad, although it did drag for a while, but Dawn of the Eagles didn't drag at all. Ended up still enjoying all three books although I was disappointed that the first book
didn't actually show the occupation actually beginning, but we were shown it having started about three weeks previous
and that the third book
didn't actually show the Cardassians actually decide to completely withdraw from Bajor, but seeming to be just shortly afterward.
Other than that, and the slow beginning to the first two books, I enjoyed these thoroughly

Star Wars has been gaining shelf space consistently for the last two years, at least that is what I have noticed around here. There are like 10 books of each of the LOTF novels on the shelf and that seems to be a consistent number every time I go to Borders or B&N. Star Trek book shelf space, while smaller, seems to move more quickly. It doesn't look as bad as Star Wars, all those books sitting there getting damaged and dusty and discolored.

I haven't read the first two books yet but did see this book on the shelf at the stores I go to over the last 1-2 weeks. I'll pick it up next time I'm there probably.
