I'm officially 5' 2" (although I suspect I'm shrinking). My immediate previous girlfriend was about 5' 4". The two boyfriends before that were both around 6' 3". I met all three on the internet, so I'd say I probably don't have a preference one way or another, it's just how the odds go when you're a shorty.
I've dated a few men who were shorter than me. I'm 5'10". My current beau is exactly the same height as me flat footed, so I can seem quite a bit taller than he depending on my heels. My sister is 6'1". Her hubby is likewise her exact same height flat footed. She likes even taller heels than me (I rarely go above 2.5 inches) so put her in a pair of 3 inchers and she's quite a formidable sight. Not like those chicks I used to see around Chicago though. I swear I passed women who were easily 6'2" or 6'3" every day in Union Station.
I never had a problem with the height thing (especially since I grew to my full height by the time I was 14), but I've seen it make some guys pretty nervous. But my thought is if you're going to date in a gene pool as diverse as America's you better be flexible in your gender assumptions or you'll miss out on some fabulous people.

I'm a guy, 5'9. My preferred height for women is 5'5-5'7 - noticeably shorter, but not overly so.
While I could see dating a woman about the same height, it'd indeed be awkward if she were flat-out taller. And not too likely to happen either, as she'd almost definitely have to make the first move, which very rarely happens to me. Besides, it's not as though there aren't enough 6' guys to take care of those in the 5'8 and up range.

I'v'e met exactly one woman that was taller than me, but only by an inch or so. (I'm 6'2" - 6'3" depending on the time of day.) She came into Subway occasionally when I worked there. She was pretty hot, but by that point I had been warned about flirting with customers unless they do it first, and then it was explained to me that placing an order does not constitute flirting, and then was told to stop all together.

Well it's kind of hard to me to date taller woman since probably less than 0.1% of all women are taller than 6'4". I mean the only women I know who are taller than that are in the WNBA. Even in the WNBA they are only a few like Lauren Jackson, Lisa Leslie, etc. I suppose my ideal height for a woman is around 5'9" to 5'11" but I don't really care about it that much.
Oh, absolutely. I have one female friend who's probably about 6'8"... I don't think I've ever seen anyone, male or female, look taller than her when in her company. I certainly would not want to get on her bad side -- fortunately, she's a sweet girl, and we get along quite well.
Would I date a woman taller than me? Ehhh... probably not, to be honest. I mean, if I really liked her, I wouldn't dismiss the idea, but I tend to be attracted to women who are a bit shorter than myself. I'm about 5'10"/5'11", and I usually seem to be most attracted to ladies between 5'0" and my height. Anything significantly shorter or taller than that range might be a bit too distracting for me.
No, since I'm 6'3" and quite frankly I'd probably be intimidated by a woman taller then me! I know, it's silly since I now us tall people are usually quite gentlehearted, but it's part of my big brother complex. I need the woman to be shorter then me so I can feel bit protective or something like that. Not in an overbearing, obsessive way, mind you. Plus you can have more fun with shorter girls
