News Daniel Craig signs up for Bond 25, Christopher Nolan in talks to direct

I've had my issues with CraigBond (my friends and family are rolling their eyes at that bit of understatement), but I've finally made some peace with him in the past couple of years, and I'm actually looking forward to No Time to Die. The trailer looks great (though still very Craig, in that everything is about Bond the person, not Bond the professional), and that spin on "Bond ... James Bond" is damned clever.

A few points. Bond seems very surprised to see Madeline. Also she's clearly in the DB5 with him in Italy, but we also see him alone on the bridge. Question is, is the bridge jump before or after the DB5 scene?

Safin's line about "Your skills die with you, mine will live on" is interesting as well. Is Madeline
a clone and will we thus see more than one of her?

Guessing when M says "Where's 007" he may not be referring to Jimmy boy ;) (Though I've also heard rumours that Lashana Lynch is actually either 002 or 004) I like her stay in your lane line.

Oh and that has to be one of the best Bond, James Bond...the only thing that would make it funnier would be if he then goes "B...O...N...D, look I used to work here!"

Craig is possibly my favourite Bond, certainly my favourite post Connery, even though after the masterpiece that was Casino Royale, the films they have put him in have been rather lacklustre.

I know trailers are supposed to give that impression, but the new one actually looks as if it might be great !

I just keep thinking, Spectre looked good too...
Yeah, and so did Skyfall and Quantum of Solace...

I saw a poster on twitter, along the lines of the ones upthread, which identified her as 007.

Wanna bet the “Bond...” line to the receptionist was the work of Waller-Bridge?

ha ha no bet! It would be nice to get back to nobody knowing who Bond is, but I guess even from FRWL he's know, I mean the added bonus of Spectre's plan is getting a shot at killing 007 in revenge for Dr No.

Re Lashana Lynch I'd love it is M says "where's 007?" and Moneypenny goes "She's on her last leg, sir," cut to Nomi shagging

I found Spectre to be underwhelming, and the shoehorned retcons were rather tedious. Hopefully this makes up for it.

Looks good.
Yes, sorry! :)

Yeah, three in this film alone (unless the guy in the mask is actually Malick in which case it's two)
I'm pretty sure that's Malek's character, he appears to have the same messed up skin on the lower part of his face.
Apparently there's a theory going around that Ramy Malek's Safin, is actually Dr. No, and the title is a line from the end of the movie where Bond is telling No that it is time to die.

Gods, I hope not. That would be as bad as the shit in Die Another Day.

Would they pull the same stunt in 2 consecutive films though, whereby a bad guy identified with a particular name in press releases etc turns out to be an iconic bad guy from the series’ past? Though I must admit that I like the symmetry of Craig’s final opponent turning out to be the same as Connery’s initial one.

To me it wouldn’t even make sense to use Dr. No unless this was a new adaptation of the title book. Bringing back Blofeld is one thing, but a specific character who only appeared in one adventure is another.

Yeah, and whilst I have my issues with Waltz's Blofeld, he's clearly Ernst Stavro, Dr No is a very specific character, his heritage, his metal hands, his locale and plot, all Malik would share with him is the name so what would be the point?

So I haven't looked at this thread much, and I don't know if it's been mentioned yet. But, since this was originally about Christopher Nolan being in talks to direct a Bond movie, Nolan got a completely different spy film after all.

They could do something closer to the book, where he didn’t have hands at all. There’s something much creepier about that character. But yeah, overall it would be an odd choice.

Maybe do a composite of all baddies brought back from the dead to do Bond in for good? Metal teeth. Robotic hands. Steel rimmed bowler. Golden gun. Poisoned knife in boot. Finishes you off by breaking your neck with his toned womanly thighs.

Dr Xeniabunt Scarajawjob.
