News Daniel Craig signs up for Bond 25, Christopher Nolan in talks to direct

This didn’t feel like a Christopher Nolan movie at all ;)

(can someone update the title please lol)

Or we can keep it like this for years even when we get a new James Bond haha
That would be up to the forum mods if the OP can't do it themselves (I think only premium users can edit their thread titles after a certain point, and we've been discussing this film so long...)

I don't want to see a cheerful wisecracking Bond ever again, but whilst a bruised and hurt Bond from Craig was a well overdue acknowledgment of the literary character, how do they follow this ?

Next Bond is going to have to be younger - 35 at most if they want a good run from him. Are they going to repeat the 'New "00" to cynical old hand' arc every time they reboot ? That'll get old...

According to EON, how the new Bond will be handled depends on what the next actor will bring to the role. Could be a lighter interpretation like Moore/Brosnan or the tortured agent from Fleming/Craig. Just depends on how good the actor sells it.

I looked at how it ends on Wikipedia. That'll have to do until it comes on TV / Bluray.

And to be honest, that will do.

I'm booked for the midday IMAX showing tomorrow, going to have a big breakfast and give myself a clear cut-off point where I stop drinking around 10.30!

Excellent profile. I particularly agree with the comparison to Batman Begins as a means to redefine the character (also rather apropos considering the still lingering out-of-date thread title). While I might not agree with the overall analysis (I think the Craig films are more successful than this profile argues), the writer gives them a fair shake. That said, I withhold judgment on Spectre because I've only only watched it the one time and I'm going to give it another chance to prove itself when I rewatch all of Craig films before seeing No Time To Die.

Also, I love this opening:

Before Daniel Craig arrived, James Bond hadn’t made sense for years. That’s not just because the character’s original conception — a borderline sadist who used and discarded women while eating elaborate meals, drinking to excess, and smoking constantly — felt increasingly out of time as the 20th century turned into the 21st.

As this doesn't spoil anything about NTTD, I thought it best to put it in here:
