CW The Flash Season 7 trailer!

It’s happening more than once in a while.

Like I said, they typically do Barry-lite episodes once or twice a season. It shouldn't be a surprise by this point.

And would you rather they just worked Grant Gustin to exhaustion? They don't do it arbitrarily. Like I said, ensemble casts exist for a reason.

I wouldn’t mind if they shortened the seasons to maybe 13-15 episodes so they don’t work Grant to exhaustion. Of course I’m one of those who is holding out hope that next season will be the last but if they insist of having this show go on and on, you can have shorter seasons.

I liked the threat of CCPD and their uncomfortable cells as she's literally in a cell with standing room only with no stimuli.

Well, this was weird -- an episode theoretically about Iris getting pregnant, and Iris was completely absent from it. Did something happen to Candice Patton that required writing her out, or are they setting something up where she's disappeared and Barry doesn't realize it?

Also, why does Barry need to find a lab to do a pregnancy test instead of just getting Iris one of those home kits like the one they often advertise in the commercials on this very show? I think it had something to do with testing for meta genes, but surely you can confirm the pregnancy first and worry about that later.

Still not that interested in the relationship between Mark and Frost (who sound like they should be collaborating with David Lynch on Twin Peaks). The show is still nerfing Frost's powers -- she should've been able to encase the Godspeeds in solid blocks of ice, but instead she's just doing martial arts and not even using her powers. What the hell? And why did Mark have to rig that explosion and sneak away when he was free just to leave anyway?

Allegra needs to suit up and join the team properly, now that she's gotten a power-up. It's generally not a good idea to let family members watch surgery and distract the surgeon with their worrying, so she shouldn't have been there anyway (and how come nobody in the surgical area was wearing a mask, especially when everyone on the set off-camera probably was?). Meanwhile, Esperanza looks a lot more cute and unthreatening without the Ultraviolet mask.

I suspect the answer to the mystery of how Kramer survived the attack that killed her teammates is going to turn out to be that she's a meta herself, which is going to be how she gets over her anti-meta prejudice.

Yes, no one wearing masks during surgery was very, very strange! That is stuff that more and more irritates me. In fantasy it’s important to keep it tied to reality in the little every day details. Everyone knows a surgeon wears a mask when performing an operation.

EDIT - I would also add that given current events it’s highly irresponsible for the show to present wearing masks during a surgery as unnecessary. That has been standard procedure for many decades.

Am I the only one who didn't know until just now that Jessica Parker Kennedy is a lot older than both Grant Gustin and Candice Patton even though she looks about 16?

Only about 4-5 years older, but yeah, that's weird, even given the time travel element.

There have been rumors that's she's real life pregnant.

Having first seen her in Black Sails I knew she at least had to be of age.

He said the metagene can interfere with the hormones the pregnancy test looks for. The explanation was fine, except I'm not sure when they learned so much about metahuman pregnancy.

I quite liked this episode. I like how this Godspeed story seems to be a multi season story.
The lack of Iris was odd. Maybe she had to self isolate during this episode

I got to say I am just bored with the show these days. With Cisco and Wells gone the show feels empty. Plus you got a lot of newer characters I don't care about and they fired the last newer character at did in Elognated Man. Next season they really need to shake things up IMO. I am talking even cast wise. I think Joe West should even die. Kill Caitlin as well. Bring back Barry, Iris, Frost, Cecil and make Diggle a regular. Also blow up S.T,A.R labs and create a new setting.

I would not kill off Joe West. But I have felt for years they need move away or at least reduce Star Labs. For numerous reasons.

Cisco said he left because he had a dream that years in the future that he was stuck there and everyone else had moved on. But most of them are stuck there. It’s easy to forget Barry is Cop most of the time. With Barry and Iris having kids soon it would be nice to see many more scenes of them at home.

The newer cast members who have not been announced yet for season 8.... that could be still be coming... but would be happy if they are written out. I do understand occasional episodes to focused other characters. Ralph’s solo episodes worked because those were self contained mysteries. No predictions but I suspect he will be back... played by who???

Most of the Arrowverse shows have casts that are too large. Superman and Lois so far is an exception. I like and understand having a supporting cast. Whether regulars or reoccurring. But too often they have 2 or 3 more than needed. The result is newer characters never get developed well. It’s important to find the right balance.

I say this over and over again - WTF is the point of having Caitlin and Frost as two different people??!! It would be really gusty to have one sacrifice themselves to save the other. Her character has been in as much a rut as Cisco was.

I'd call that cliched rather than gutsy. What's interesting about Caitlin and Frost is their sisterly relationship -- how they've gone from hating each other to becoming attached to each other and now being even closer than sisters because they're two halves of the same person. It would be a shame to sacrifice that dynamic. It needs to be explored more, not gotten rid of -- though I imagine there are logistical reasons they have to limit how much direct interaction the two characters can have on-camera.

This happens to me every season... By the time I realize a new season is airing, it's already well into the season, and CW only has the last few episodes available for streaming, so I can't watch from the beginning. I just have to wait until some time next year whenever Netflix adds it. :scream:
