Crystal Pepsi...

I met a woman called Crystal Pepsi once. She was considerably more expensive than a can of soda.

As I was born in 1985, I understand why I wouldn't be familiar with "New" Coke.

It does crack me up when foreigners come to my bar and ask for "Coke Lite." As I have never heard of such a thing, I give them Diet Coke.

Considering it is called "Coca Cola light" in Europe (atleast it is in Sweden) it isnt too big a wonder. I mean.. most of us has heard that you guys call it "Coke" (which is a drug someone tragically shoots up with a needle), so we conform in calling it that. But "diet" isnt that well known.

I get my panties in a bunch because when I got to the states the first time and tried to order a soda, the guy in the bar made a gigantic big fuss and rolled his eyes at me when i had said 3 times what i wanted, going from "clear english" to "shy unnerved omg i cant even order a soda.." - voice.
I mean Gees, thanks man. Let´s see how well you order stuff in Swedish.
I had said "A coca cola light, please". Apparantly it is a gigantic mystery.

^It's called Diet Coke or Diet Coca-Cola here in the UK, foul demonic beverage that it is.

Crystal Pepsi was OK.

Miller Clear (yes, clear beer) came out about the same time. It was truly awful.

I'd say that Diet Cherry Coke is pretty nice though. I really miss Vanilla Coke though. Loved that staff.

I haven't seen it in a while. I wonder if it's a regional thing here in the States; I've also found that some (but not all) of my local supermarkets don't carry Cherry Zero.

Maybe the Midwest is just awesome like that. :D What I miss is that old sobe Mr. Green. Damn you Pepsi, that stuff was awesome. You were just afraid of the competition.

I'm with you. Was in Germany for Oktoberfest, and drank more than a few Coke Lights to try and snap out of it in the mornings. More or less Diet Coke, but the taste wasn't quite right. Actually tasted more similar to Coke Zero.

And the flavored Coke Light (I tried Lemon) was awful. WAY too strong a lemon taste in it for me...

I remember Crystal Pepsi. I had it for the novelty, but was never a big Pepsi guy. It's funny the things you forget, like a trend for companies to create novelty products by saving pennies on food coloring.

you people and your "Coca-Cola" and your "NEW Coca-Cola" "and your "Coke Zero" blah blah blah blah, there's only one true incarnation of the stuff, and thats "Mexican Coca-Cola"

Actually, there was a huge "clear" trend going on at the time and marketing that your product was so pure you could see right through it like water was "in" at the time. Clear gel shampoos, clear gel deodorants, clear liquid soaps, etc.

It was a silly time.
