Creative Writing, Poetry, Arts & Crafts, and Other Creations Thread

I've found myself having an internal debate about a similar situation in my story. One of the big plot points is that the narrator's younger half sister is kidnapped by the bad guys, and I keep going back and forth on how bad I want her to be treated. I was thinking about having her beaten up and raped and so her arc would then be her dealing with the trauma, and it motivating her to become more involved in the fight with the bad guys, but I'm not sure if I really sure if I want to go that dark. No matter what, it's still going to be bad for her, and her big motivation, it's just a matter of how bad I want to make it.
And I envy you that you were dealing with all this stuff in a serious story. I am writing in this case the sorta silly tale about the place founded on the humiliation and enslavement of women where I should have dealt with similar stuff much earlier and the character I was speaking about must "satisfy" her wife a couple of pages later.

I feel like a such swine.

Well, there is a fair amount of humor in my story, but this is one area where things stay pretty serious. I'm kind of going for the tone of something like the MCU where it has a mixture of serious and funny moments.

Multidimensional thoughts (being the evolution) for one or another race or various species of bugs or even the human species mapped in idea form. Because they are an interwoven tree like graphing and branching with each new birth by connection coming from this is to another part having more branching going on as they occur in the tree-map forming patterns similar but different from the pattern it came from, the idea has no end or beginning as it grows into larger and larger trees and branchings since time has been mapped itself into just a point on the tree that would branch combining with all other kinds of now moments all put together like this. I see this as a thought in my mind and it is just another multidimensional thought of mine.

this is something I might put into a larger size adding words and thoughts to this "thing" I am developing into a kind of self aware type group of words -- yeah- comments on this would help me go further :)

revised some-

Multidimensional thoughts (being the evolution) with one or another race or various species of bugs or even the human species can be done by mapping them in idea form where they are an interwoven tree like graphing and branching with each new birth by connection coming from this is to another part having more branching going on as they occur in the tree/map forming patterns similar but different from the original pattern they came from. this idea has no end or beginning as it grows into larger and larger trees and branchings since time has been mapped itself into just a point on the tree that would branch combining with all other kinds of now moments all put together like this. so when I saved these files in condensed form from fb where fb crunches the image size -- :) I did not change their names to a simple one to 13..(fb gives the images almost mmm well totally random numeric names) and as such I am not sure if I have uploaded a different 6 from the last six -- I might be able to tell ? but also I have no idea what image is the final 13th image that has been missed? anyway it is fun to do these as usual-

One of my rediscovered hobbies that I've gotten back into the last few years has been model making, mostly Star Trek and real-life space vehicles. Prior to that I hadn't put anything together since I was a teen and had forgotten how much fun it was as well as a labor of love. While model kits are harder to find nowadays (and much more expensive) and my domicile has steadily been strained for room (and my wallet for cash), I've been on hiatus for maybe the last year now. I presented a few pics of my most recent creation in another thread, but thought I'd post it here as well with a few added ones. Since I had already assembled several normal, canon Enterprises in the past, I wanted to do something different and modify a standard kit to something not seen before in-universe.

I present my Mirror-Universe Enterprise refit complete with added mega-phasers, forward saucer torpedo tubes and Empirical markings, all befitting the Terran's most powerful warship. I also modified the hanger deck complete with shuttlecraft.

I call it Infinity Dreams on the video but the working title was always Festiv because I started it at Christmas and the bells have a seasonal vibe. I spent a year working on it every night using a PS1.

I even dreamed up a music video for it. I'm walking home from work on a dreary November evening and stop to buy chips and while waiting this music starts playing on my headphones. I leave the chip shop and a dog starts following me. Then gradually lots of dogs start following me for some reason and I rush to get home to escape all my new four legged frends. The song finishes, the dogs disperse and the video fades out.

We can all dream can't we

Got back to my writing for the first time in a while a couple days ago, and added a new scene to my book, but to be honest after I wrote it, I realized it makes one of the characters look kinda mean. So I'm gonna go back and rewrite some of the beginning of the scene so things escalate a bit more slowly, and the character doesn't just jump to behaving the way she does now.

Did the writing, and the character's behavior wasn't as bad as I was thinking, but I still changed some of the dialogue.
In the scene the main character's crazy neighbor lady starts throwing a fit because his female best friend is out riding her horse in a sports bra and riding pants, and she calls her a whore and slut. The neighbors tells her to change her clothes, and originally she just said no, and rode off, but now I added a bit more back and forth between them before she rides away.
I've been watching The Witcher Season 2 on Netlfix, and Freya Allan is almost scarily perfect for the main character's half-Sidhe half-sister. I'm pretty sure I came up with the character before I saw the first season but she is almost exactly what I had in mind for her.

I have recently discovered the joys of GIMP, a program for digital illustration, which allows me to do things I couldn't do with plain old MS Paint (and believe me when I say I am a friggin' surgeon with Paint LOL). Specifically, I had been itching to recreate artwork from the classic "Batman: The Animated Series", and in this post I want to show off my version of the series' end credits background, as well as the title card for the incredible two-part episode "Two-Face". I really tried as best as I could to duplicate the airbrushed art deco look of the show, and while it works in most places, in others it doesn't quite so well.

Here's the end titles backdrop:

And here's the title card for the "Two-Face" episode:

Very nice work. I used GIMP for the .DDS plugin when I was adding graphics to the Stalker game in Lua and Javascript. It took a few days and lots of coffee to work it out but I cracked it in the end and for the low low price of nothing.

Edit: ok I mean beer not coffee.

I wasn't sure where to ask this but I'm looking for knitting advice. I've never done it before and am giving it a try as it could be therapeutic. I've got 8" plastic needles and some double knit yarn but am not sure where to start. Are there any good online resources or youtube channels for a complete beginner?

Edit: I meant 8mm needles not 8" I've been using youtube videos to practice cast on and have started to understand the basic principles of creating stitches and watching youtube videos in slow motion but I think my needles are far too big and the yarn I'm using is too small to learn the basics of casting on with and it keeps slipping off so I need different needles and much thicker yarn to learn with.

I've been reading the knitting wiki page and had no idea knitting was so complex and that just makes it more appealing.

Look up Very Pink Knits on YouTube. I think they’re the best online knitting tutorials.
