Course: Oblivion

I believe this thread has another post.
Nothing was wrong with the voyage or very out of the ordinary until B'Ellana's finger show'd itself as bio-mimetic. The doctor ordered them to look for deuterium, hydrogen sulfide and di-chromates. Harry and Tom had no reasonable explanation for B'Ellana's finger to transform like that and, before, no one would dare to realize that their Voyager is the bio-mimetic one. The instabilities in the conduit could be a result of the slipstream recently developed as the sickness of the crew. The fact that Tuvok and Chakotay conduct an investigative survey was also a result of their worst fear.

I know this is about Course:Oblivion but when Voyager landed on the Demon planet different possibilies accrued and Voyager called all the shots.
I see above the term nihilistic. This ep is not nihilistic- but just based on deeper realities concerning cause and effect.
Immagine a different scenario at the Demon planet when all this began. After Voyager landed if they ran out of gas before they brought aboard and analyzed the silverfluid then the copies were different too. How could the bio-mimetic copies possibly know who they are if they have no words to describe themselves? I think Janeways reaction to the situation in Course Oblivion, being naturally good A.I.'s, would have been more closer to home.

I'm new to the board and bound to repeat things other folks have said, so here goes nothing.

The strongest thing about this episode was the way the duplicate crew possessed the same strengths and virtues as the original, even under the extreme conditions the suffered through. And they way they handled the horrible situation was so admirable.

I guess when the writers finished the episode and left all those duplicates on the planet, they just couldn't reist giving them a duplicate ship and tell a very unusual story about them. :D

I just watched this episode and as with Counterpoint, I'm confused. From the Demon episode to now, was the crew the real crew or duplicates? Or was it just in this episode they were featured? Did the real Tom and B'Lanna get married as well?

Well, I've seen "Demon" now, and none of it's any clearer to me yet. I'm starting to think both episodes were a case of the writers pulling something out of their internal waste disposal systems and throwing it against a wall to see if it would stick.

They were really metallically based analogues of Tuvix. They just wanted to live!!!!

Yeah, they should have sent Tuvok and Neelix to the planet instead, and the first beam-up turns out to be Neelok. Second beam-up gives us Tuvix, and "Demon" retitle to "Son of Tuvix". Final shot is 75 Neeloks and 75 Tuvixes (Tuvices?) sinking into the dilithium pools, happy together again.

Alas I do not have time to watch them again, though I might be able to manage one of them since it's not like I need to watch the thing uninterrupted. I think it should be Revulsion as Living Witness I've seen raaaather a lot.

Yes. I SHALL DO IT.

Wolf. Ram. And Hart.

How the #### cool is that?

Only a communist wouldn't finish Angel first.

Hey?

If you need more Lindsay, check out Leverage.

Or did you do that already, since I must have been screaming SEVENOFNINEISONLEVERAGE at one point a couple years ago?

I really loved Linday and was sad he left and happy he reappeared. Great actor. Have not seen Leverage yet.

And yeah, just my time choice for watching Revulsion is not cutting into my Angel time so like, it's okay. But we will see if it happens. I have to reach up and get the Borg cube and find the episode. Probably would watch them more if I could just click on startrek.com but of course I am verboten it and can't be assed doing a work around.

I just ate a big steak, it was awesome. I covered it in cracked pepper.
