I had not, forgotten Jenner or those that used the method earlier. Dairy cows... not to my knowledge other than as a later method to rapidly manufacture the vaccine.
Thanks for the link and clarification. I was largely unaware of the history of smallpox inoculation before Jenner.

Humans may never develop immunity against Covid-19 according to the latest research. We may have to live with it in the same way we live with Tuberculosis.

That study has a lot of maybes and caveats in it. Do we have any confirmed reinventions yet?

It said that 10% of recovered patients didn’t test positive for antibodies and it raised doubts about how long they stay in the system. It’s enough to raise doubts about long term immunity but not enough to make strong statements in the absence of confirmed reinfections.

The new infection rate in the US is creeping up again (Due mostly to spikes in places like Texas and Florida) but new death rate is going down.

Not sure whether it is because lower risk people are getting infected or whether the theory of the virus evolving to be less deadly because people with less severe infections distance less and spread more.

Here in Scotland we are still in phase II of lockdown and thankfully cases and deaths are dropping all the time, and by the looks of it if we keep this up i suspect it will be eliminated completly from here by the end of July hopefully, so slow and steady seems to be winning the race, so fingers crossed.

I'm cautiously optimistic even with the increasing infection rate there is also reports that infection might have been wider spread than previously reported. With the death rate that actually might mean COVID is not as deadly as first thought.

Cautiously optimistic.
