^^^Eliminated as in no more cases or deaths, but it will always be lurking in the background waiting to spread again for whatever reason, and i think this is about the best we can probably hope for until we can find a jag to or something to inoculate us from it.
Maybe if everyone there just drinks a lot of whiskey, it'll kill the virus. I know, I know, what are the odds?
Well i don't drink so it will have to be the full hazemat suit for me when i go to the shops. Lol But on the good news front we are now 3 days without any covid related deaths here in Scotland, so fingers crosses we can enter July like this and hopefully continue.

With a mortality rate of less than 1% (if I'm doing the math right) then I'm less fearful of this virus as time wears on. I have a mask but I work in a near empty office, rarely go to the store, and live in rural farm country. Can someone do the math for me since I'm just a dumb American?

Not off topic at all and seriously not surprising. Why do you think you can get prescriptions from Canada at a much lower price (I did at a time I didn't have insurance and had to pay for a couple meds myself).
What about family members, the people you work with, pass on the street, in the grocery store, at restaurants? Are you OK with even a slim chance that you might get it and unknowingly pass it on to someone else? Mortality rate figures have varied--much higher in Italy, much lower in Iceland. Much higher for people with heart disease or diabetes, lower for young, healthy people with type O blood. You're not wearing the mask for yourself; you wear it to protect everyone else.
