Spoilers Continuation of 25th Century Trek?

Midnight's Edge?

Who the fuck would go to YouTube fancasts for actual information?

There's probably more potential in Academy than in a 25th century show springboarding off Picard. Younger characters, an unexplored era.

Now that they can't afford to have so many Star Trek shows running simultaneously they should try combining their ideas. Star Trek Legacy: Janeway vs Section 31. :p

I wouldn't be surprised if like a Janeway mini-series gets announced soon.
I was hoping for a new tent pole prestige hallmark ‘legacy’ show which could potentially star Janeway and others, taking Star Trek forward in to the 25th century with Jeri Ryan in the main role on a *new* Enterprise. But I’m losing hope now and becoming disenfranchised with the franchise. It’s starting to come across as there being too many fingers in the pie so to speak, with too many people wanting to put their mark on to the slices which eventually no one will want to eat. I hope that I am wrong though and we are due for another upwards trend in Trek riding off the wake of Picard season 3. :techman:

I'm sure there will be another 25th century show, but these things take time. Didn't it take like one or two years before Strange New Worlds was announced when fans wanted more Pike after season 2 of Discovery? There needs to be a lot of talk between a lot of people (actors are usually the last ones to know), before something like this will become a reality. Season 3 of Picard isn't even done yet. I expect a 25th century show, somewhere in 2025/2026. It does take years! Be patient, my friend... :-)

Take Star Trek forward by only using approved things from it's past. Sure, Jan :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

It would be like taking Star Trek’s ‘present’, which was for a while kind of running side by side with the viewer, forward. Picking up the late 24th century/early 25th where we left off after the TNG movies, Voyager and Deep Space Nine, similar as to what Picard is starting to do now but on a much grander galaxy spanning scale, not a series of bottle episodes. Such a continuation could use legacy characters mixed in with fresh new faces, moving the series *forward* in to the 25th century with *some* familiar faces whilst also exploring the new. Hopefully. Kirk took Star Trek forward for decades, as did Picard, someone else can take it forward now, whether that be Seven of Nine or someone else.
:)

It's visiting with the same folks, just older. Did that.

It's not like there's a real history of the future involved here.

It's a bit spoilery, but it's also pretty obvious.

Picard S3 isn't about continuing the past, it's about setting up the Next 'Next Generation' for future adventures. Ultimately, that's the endgame of the series.

Well I jolly well hope so.

“Boldly going forward because they can’t find reverse….”

They didn’t sing that song for no reason.

With the coming void left by Picard ending, that there will be the opening for Star Trek Legacy to be greenlit.
With all of the recent talk from Terry Matalas of "hoping for Legacy show", maybe he is playing it close-to-the vest, and giving us hints the best that he can.

I think one good selling point would be that with the vast amount of sets built for Picard, those could be a MAJOR cost savings for a new production.

Starfleet Academy was the successor to Discovery, Star Trek Legacy will likely be the successor to Star Trek Picard. Section 31 can deal with being a miniseries, its the riskiest idea.

Nope.

At least significant sections of them. Storage in LA is expensive.
And whatever sets were saved, would need to be dismantled and shipped to Toronto at great cost, if not totally rebuilt from scratch, as I highly doubt any future Trek series will be filmed in LA with PatStew outta the picture.
