Concerning forgotten duties; an apology!

Hi all. Long time no see for those who remember me. I mean, I guess it's only really been a couple of months but still. I feel like I owe an apology to those who were following my reviews. It kind of goes without saying at this point but, as so often happens with things of this nature, real life grabbed me by the horns and wouldn't let go for a while.

No one here really knew me all that well so I'll just sum up the past several weeks by saying some bad things were going on but I've gotten them under control. Unfortunately, I also went ahead and watched the rest of Deep Space Nine to keep some happy things in my life while I was unable to get back here and post updates. So at this point it would seem unfair to the show if I kept going with them; using only my memories and those of Memory Alpha wouldn't do the show justice and I'm not too keen on going all the way back to where I left off just yet.

I'm still kind of impressed with the fact that I got to a fiftieth review, I guess. This wasn't something I'd ever tried to do before and that amount of dedication still manages to startle me. But for those who enjoy reading the opinions of others and had my thread pinned as one of their selections, I sincerely thank you and truly apologize for dropping the ball.

To sum up my thoughts on the rest of the series, I'd like to say that I ultimately found seasons two, five and seven the most rewarding. (Hey, look, Jeff's plagiarizing Jammer again!) No, but I really did. The world-building in season two was terrific and the revelations in five were equally astounding. Season six opened with a huge bang and it had some big contenders that almost propelled it to the top three but some 'quieter' strings that sort of undid that a bit. Season seven went back to business and despite the common complaints I was still blown away by it.

Kira and Odo come out on top for me in the obligatory list of favorite characters; watching their development was just gravy. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to get back to the reviews by the time season five ended but I knew I didn't have the time and I was just too far ahead of myself.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine has left behind something really profound for me. Sisko's toast got me bawling.

Cheers, friends.

Well, yes, I know. But I am without a doubt my harshest critic so I still felt like drawing attention to my weaknesses.

Or something. :P
