College Football 2024

A few days late, but I absolutely LOVE that Kennesaw State beat Liberty! Until that game, Liberty was unbeaten, KSU was winless, it's KSU's first FBS win, and Liberty's margin over KSU was greater than Bama over Vanderbilt! Added bonus, they got to storm the field twice!

Another disheartened FSU fan (is there any other kind at this point?), but at least as a Boise St. season ticket holder, I'm getting to watch Ashton Jeanty make a serious run (lots of runs actually) at the Heisman Trophy. The chase resumes tomorrow night against San Diego St. on The Blue!

My sister and brother-in-law got us tickets for the UW vs USC game this weekend in Seattle for my birthday! It's UW's homecoming game, which should be fun. I'm not expecting much score-wise, as it's the very definition of a rebuilding year for my Huskies, but it should still be entertaining. I just hope we don't get rained on the whole game.

I don't think I've seen a collapse as dramatic as FSU's. It's like getting passed over last season sent the team into a tailspin. Losing a QB matters but not quite this much.

Whatever magic they were using to find hidden gems in the portal deserted them. The big decision was going with the human statue at quarterback instead of developing one of their young guys. None of the other players who were supposed to be difference makers have made a positive difference.

Anyone thinking Nebraska was back, may have been premature in their thinking. Last three weeks have been rough.

So how do we feel about the playoff rankings? The top half follows the AP poll pretty close, but the bottom half is very different in some cases. For example, 8-0 Army is at 18 in the AP, but 25 in the playoff rankings.

Congrats on the win.

USC Football is falling apart. Looks like Miller Moss is going to transfer after being benched.

Granted he threw 3 interceptions in the Washington game, but I think he's being thrown under the bus because Riley is too expensive to buy out. Riley's cost us at least three games with poor play calling and terrible clock management.

:scream:

A few upsets for example miami falling to GT was nice to see. Georgia lost to Ole Miss? Wow. Gotta love college sports.

Yesterday was a DAMN good day! 🐝🐝🐝

First GT game I've been able to go to in over a decade, and it was great! I wasn't expecting much, not to mention a win! And uga losing in the same day?! 🥳

My view of the field rush, after they'd broken apart the field goal:

Apparently part of it ended up in the university president's pool! (The Chattahoochee is a bit far away.)

I watched that game.

GT dominated on the ground.

How fun!

As a Boise State season ticket holder, I'm thrilled with the possibility of getting a chance to play giant killer. As an embittered Florida State grad (is there any other kind these days?) that's a pretty good consolation prize.

Oh sure now everybody wants to dump em in the river. Folks need to understand Neyland is river side lol. But tbh, the most memorable time we took the goal posts down was against Florida in 98 and those posts went up and down the Strip all night. Eventually fire and rescue volunteered to cut them up and distribute pieces to the crowd. IIRC UT sold some of those pieces later on since both goalposts along with a then 1 of a kind tv camera the UT fanbase has never been forgiven for destroying went down.

GT has been showing a lot of life lately. As a UT fan it’s hard not to love the fighting Bobby Dodds. Unfortunately UGA losing to OM that week sealed our fate last Saturday (that and some of the most lopsided officiating I’ve ever seen). I want a rematch at a neutral site.

Florida beats OM puts my Vols Back in control of our playoff fate Plus Colorado and BYU go down. Auburn is currently laying wood to TAMu which may mean Texas is left with Vandy for their best win. Indiana got embarrassed What crazy finish the season in coming to.

Oklahoma knocks BAMA out. BYU lost. Indiana got beat down Florida took out OM. . Auburn and tamu are in OT. Imma Just gon go sit in those seats in the second row.
