I don't. His credibility is pretty much shot.
The reality is "better" is in the eye of the beholder. Even if the script sounds better that doesn't automatically make a better movie. So, I'll stick with what I have rather than what I wished I had.
To quote his most recent video "i was talking about this last night on midnight's edge.."
What's that credibility? You can go lower? I don't believe that's possible...
And yet, it happened.
If this script is true, nothing about it impresses me. It just magnifies the weaknesses from the previous films.
I think critics are saying its better because they feel they have to maintain credibility with the haters on the internet or the woke crowd because Rose supposedly had a bigger role in this one.

I actually like bits of it, though it does sound fanwanky in places (but there have been fanwanky bits in most of the films from AOTC onwards). Palpatine’s “will” sending Luke/Kylo to be trained by the Sith who trained him echoes Obi-Wan sending Luke to Yoda and Kylo’s vision under training echoes Luke’s in the cave under Dagobah.
I would have preferred Palpatine to appear in this method than as per TROS. Oddly enough, I yesterday had a daydream where near the start of that film, Kyle went to meet Palpatine and almost immediately killed him. I really liked that idea - it would’ve totally thrown us all for a loop after he was hyped up in the trailers! (But maybe there’s a reason why I’m not a writer)
I prefer the idea that Rey’s parents were nobody and I also like the idea of spirit Luke trolling Kylo (which would tie in with his “see you around kid” in TLJ). Some of the other ideas not so much. But had the execution been done well, I might have liked the overall film better than TROS.

I only read Io9 and AV Club's summaries, so I can't comment on the quality of the script itself, but it does sound like it had some interesting ideas. But I liked TROS and I'm not sure how I would have felt about this. Overall I think Duel of the Fates would have worked as a conclusion to the sequel trilogy, but TROS works better as a conclusion to the hole Skywalker Saga.

I think they needed more time to develop a better story. Neither is particularly good but TRoS is a little better in my opinion.
I won't believe this is real until official confirmation from someone actually involved in the production of this movie. I am sick of "unnamed sources", especially from sites like Collider. I don't trust most of these sites anymore; lately, they've become little more than gossip and rumor, doing anything for more clicks.
Certain aspects I like better, but overall they made the right call. Treverrow's story sounds like it would have been a decent followup to TLJ, but not so much for the entire Saga.
The original script outline read better overall (for me, YMMV), though TROS's star destroyers with newly refined and energy-efficient death star gun technology was pretty good (and far better than Starkiller base, which was clearly a laughable attempt to do a bigger and more epic third death star-like entity. The second one was bad enough...)
There's nothing in this article that "confirms" the story other than it says "CONFIRMED!" and then links to a collider article which provides....zero additional confirmation.
Look, RMB is a pitiful wannabe loser and a known liar. There are some things that don't add up, like why does Leia seem to have very little to do in this draft when she was supposedly going to be a central figure in episode 9?
That said, this does at least sound like a fleshed out story and it's possible it's true.
It is demonstrably far, far superior to RoS (despite having a few dodgy ideas). But, then again, week-old dog poop is a thousand times better than RoS.
As for veracity, I'm not sold yet. But it actually sounds decent. And anything would have been an improvement. Literally anything.
Me too. Her needing to be some kind of a force-sensitive royalty in order to justify the things she can do doesn't do any service to the character. It does the opposite, really.
I expected Mark Hamill to have a lot more screen time in Episode IX. The new characters never really turned into an audience magnet of Luke Skywalker's magnitude, which is a part of the reason why TROS doesn't have a lot of staying power at the boxoffice (it's being pulled from 1200 screens and beaten by Jumanji this weekend).
Doesn't sound like a very good script to be honest, but potentially a rewrite or two away from at least being decent. TROS, on the other hand, lost me at "The dead speak!".

If im picking and choosing the idea of a sith "yoda" in some swamp is a bit crap.. Would rather kylo find a holocron and old paps teach him than a zombie or a dirt old with spider/fish..
