Spoilers Coda Trilogy Discussion Thread

If memory serves me you should be able to. I can’t think of anything from them that are referenced heavily in this. Only books I think that will be needed to enjoy Coda more are the Section 31 books.

Each Coda novel also has a recap of relevant plot points from previous novels at the start.

Ordered the novels. Will take a few weeks before they're here, so I might try and find the novels I haven't read yet as well. Otherwise, I'll just enjoy Coda.

You can order the books by bol.com. then you have them within a couple of days

So, did I just get really confused or....

Reading the second book, and I could have sworn that Hegol Den was killed while trying to protect Rene during the attack. But now he's suddenly there again?

Light spoilers for Star Trek Prodigy Season 2.

Where they inspired by the Coda trilogy for the weak timelines get eaten idea? It does not feature the Devidians but apart from that it is very similar.

Reminded me as well. Hopefully it isn’t as depressing as Coda

Weird to have this thread pop back up just as I'm finishing a reread.

Coda is okay, but it's still edgy grimdark for the sake of edgy grmdark.

And frankly, the idea of having the universe erased from existence by a group of all powerful aliens who used the Bajoran Wormhole for sinister purposes was done better in DS9 Millennium. But maybe I'm biased because DS9 remains peak Trek for me.

People harp on wishing the Devidians weren't the villains, but that part was fine for me. I just wish Mirror Picard had been the one to confront the Borg Queen instead of regressing Picard Classic so hard. The idea of seeing (a) Picard face the Borg without any of the baggage that came back somehow despite being explicitly undone in Destiny appeals to me far more than watching OG Picard do it goddamn again. Keep Picard on an Enterprise and send Luc with Sisko on the Defiant because... I don't know, reasons?

Anyway, still a solid 6/10. Not my favorite but I've read worse.

Ugh, the new spoiler styling isn't really helpful in relaying what is being spoiled. Is your spoiler still related to Prodigy Season 2, or is it spoilers about Coda itself? I need to know before I risk clicking it!

It looks like there's still a spoiler title option. Let's see...
Claudius did it.

Okay, that works fine. Let's try it without a spoiler title...
Rosebud's a sled.

Also normal. Not sure where the blurry-text thing is coming from, then.

With the new software, we've got both kinds, country and western block and in-line spoilers.

Block spoilers use the same eye-with-a-line-through-it icon and still have the option for descriptive titles. They're good for hiding long spans of text.

Now we've also got in-line spoilers, using the domino-mask icon that's in between strike-through and insert table. They're great for when you have only a couple of key words or phrases that are spoilery, but can leave the majority of the post unredacted.
