That, and the fact that apparently only two years have passed in-universe from start to finish. Boy did these people cram a lot of allegiance changes (and the odd spinal cord injury/coma) into that span. The strangest bit of pacing in the universe of the show was how the tournament was split into three days. So everyone shows up, watches a 2 minute fight, then leaves.
There was a lot of out-of-place blood lust at the end there. Kim murders someone, Kreese kills someone, Kreese and Silver are likely dead.... all stemming from some inconsequential under-18 karate tournament in the valley.
I hate to double post, but…
Loved the end. Everything wrapped up nicely. But… A couple of things…
Karate Kid fanboy in me would have loved a hint at what’s to come for Daniel.. No biggie, but it is what it is…
My nagging question… As I think about it now.. The happy ending with Chozen showing up at Kim Dah-Eun’s academy all smiles and whatever. Glad she is taking a more passionate approach to karate, but she literally just killed her grandfather to take it over. How is this ok in the grand scheme of things? He intended her to kill Kreese. Neither way is the path to happy endings…
Anyway… Looking forward to the movie…
