If he hadn't gotten the Intersect 2.0 at the end of Season 2, he would have eventually gotten it at either midway or at the end of season 3 anyway. You know why? Because there are only so many places you can go with this show.

^ I have to agree with ObiWan's statement. He was eventually going to get the intersect. I dunno if it made the show better or worse but it did increase the story opportunities due to Chuck gaining the intersect. I assume that this is why they had
