Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!

got a bottle of Highland Park 12 year old Viking Honour single malt scotch whisky
Nice!

My main gift from my fam was a rug for my apartment that my mom gave me last month. I also got a mini Dutch oven (very cool), some other kitchen stuff I needed, and my dad got me these tiny, silver earrings... they're in the shape of mice. ;)

Had a nice holiday. Got a $30 Gamestop card from my cousin and her son, $40 from my aunt, $6 from my mom ($12 total, $6 earlier this month). Also had a nice dinner. :)

The gift I got from my Secret Santa showed up today! :)

I'm back. I've picked up a terrible cold, but I'm feeling already better. Taking a bath later.
My little niece loves her new plush toy she got from Santa. She doesn't like her doll she got from her grandma, though. She's not fond of dolls anyway.
I've got a gift card, money, clothing and a roasting pan and I'm content. And my mother liked her present, an expensive shower gel.

Glad you’re feeling better!

I hope everyone who celebrates had a very Merry Christmas!

My biggest gift was tickets to see Celtic Woman live in concert this spring, along with a really nice hotel reservation. They're one of my favorite music groups, so I'm really super excited, I love their new album and I can't wait to see them live! Oh and my tickets are really good ones too, very close to the stage!

I also got a heated blanket, a Doctor Who Barbie doll, and some other little things like a new day calendar for my desk and some clothes.

My fiance loved his new computer I got him, he was really excited and surprised!

Is anyone else kinda relieved that Christmas is over for this year? It's nice and all but a little exhausting.
Absofragginglutely.

I usually have such mixed feelings about Christmas anyway, but this year has been difficult to find any meaning in it. The kids have had a blast, they got what they wanted, but they could have had it all earlier in the year, when they asked for it, instead of making them wait until some arbitrary date. We’re not religious, so it just seems mean to withhold treats. We didn’t watch any Christmas movies, apart from muppets and scrooged, the kids weren’t interested because they’ve been watching them all December in after school club. The whole thing was unbudgeted because of a major setback, and preparing Christmas dinner for guests while coping with clinical depression and anxiety was all kinds of bollocks.

I’ve had some awesome Christmases, but this wasn’t one of them. I think I’ll sit the next one out.

I know the feeling, I have mixed feelings about Christmas in general too. This Christmas was one of the better ones for me but I’m still relieved it’s over.

Relieved and sad at the same time. That's how I've always felt through the years. The holiday rush is gone, as is the pressure to get everything for everyone with what you have.

On the other hand, Christmas to me isn't just a day on the calendar. It's an entire season of celebration with friends and family. At one point, it held a religious significance to me, and still does to some extent. It's an all-inclusive holiday for everyone regardless of faith.

I tend to find it's over too quickly, but on the other hand, my niece and nephew absolutely tired me out so part of me is quite relieved. At 4 and 6, they have massive amounts of energy that they can't seem to deplete, always stuck on energizer bunny mode. But they're all too cute and I could never find it in my heart to say no to them when wanting me to play in the basement with them.

Christmas is lovely, but it’s also busy, stressful and draining. At least for me, it’s always a relief when it’s finally over. It’s nice to enjoy that small stress-free window between the end of Christmas, and the time that the Christmas credit card bills come in!:lol:

I still haven't completed Christmas. All of my family is having Christmas together tomorrow. I have to cook a standing rib roast and Yorkshire pudding for 13 .

And one niece is flying in at 3 am this morning. Hubby has graciously volunteered to go to the airport for me. He also baked some cookies tonight, so it will be one less thing to do tomorrow. He gets a good star for his holiday husbanding.

That’s a lot of people to feed! Hope everything goes smoothly! :)

It's 10:20 and my elderly mother and I are the only ones awake. Mom forgot to order the roast so loser-sister is being sent to pick it up. I need to shower and get dressed but everyone is sound asleep; I don't want to wake anyone up yet. Still...we have to get started cooking, and find time to open presents with the kids, and also have 5 hours to cook the roast before the cousins arrive. And my neck hurts like hell. Joy...........

You might think ... they would lock this tread before we use it again this year...
