Christmas Thread

I have been doing something nice for my coworkers. I've brought in treats throughout the month of December. If there's one thing we all like, it's food. ;)

We did our department holiday gift exchange, and for today I organized an ugly sweater day and did a raffle drawing. Now that's Christmas team building.

spent a good deal of time today making my gingerbread cookies. I wish I was more artistic, I struggled with my icing decorations, but I did my best and it was very difficult!

Those are so cute! I realize they're likely supposed to be female gingerbread, but they kind of look Vader-like :D You could technically give them a candycane lightsaber ;)

Was anyone here ever disappointed because of an unwanted gift? Maybe not now, but as a kid.
I'm asking because I watched a TV report where families were told to give their kids just unwanted things for Christmas. Clothes, healthy food, decent stuff and so one. The kids were crying when they opened their presents. Kind of cruel. It was a hidden camera situation and the children got real and cool presents after the situation was revealed.
I was never disappointed, but I'm not good at making gifts. So I'm glad someone mentions his/her preferences. So it's easier for me to pick a gift.
I got a necklace one year when I was about 11. It was beautiful, but I wanted Barbie dolls.

Last day at work before Christmas Break.

You can almost literally see thought bubbles above everyone’s head where they’re partying.

Picked up the bird today, one of my biggest stresses. A frozen turkey that serves eight. It’ll need defrosting, but that’s ok.

Also picked up the sprouts too. Can’t be without the traditional after dinner Christmas window opening ceremony.

One time when I was a kid I was given a book on phrenology, which made me mad at the time because I feel so strongly about science over psuedosciences.

It is Christmas morning in Australia. Happy Christmas , one and all.

My Christmas haul.

The glass ornaments, the stamp sets, the paper and plush tapir are from two friends.

The giraffe, the llamas and the Gendry pop vinyl from my son Marcus.

My son Adam gave me money which I will buy a book with. I have my eyes set on a book about Edward Lear.

As usual, my holiday shopping budget this year is a little over US$1,000, 40% for friends and about 60% for family, though I'm pretty sure I've gone over my budget. I'll post my gifts later. :)
