Chris Pine appreciation thread

To take us to the number 1000 I thought I would post a picture from the movie to celebrate.

Tom, not to me, not in that pic. But when Spock has him by the throat, with Kirk's back on the console, i'd swear they morphed his face into Shatner's face -- of course they didn't...but my point is, to me, he looks EXACTLY like Shatner during that moment.

It is raining Star Trek. The Aero Theater in Santa Monica is having a showing of Star Trek XI this coming Friday night and a local library is showing the movie at 2 p.m. on December 12. All I can say is YAY!
I saw in another thread that it has been playing right through the summer and fall and still is playing every night at the Monterrey Bay IMAX.

Do you guys think he looks like Shatner here?
Trust me, doing the screen caps, Shatner is EVERYWHERE in them. I get a good, solid look at him all the time.

There is information out there on the net about the Carriers DVD, which will not be released to home video currently, but rather rental soon, at the $75 rate.

Jeri, have you found "Why Germany?" yet? I'd love to see that one. Looking forward to STSN and Carriers. Ok, well, looking forward to anything with Chris in it.

Jeri, we are 51 pages strong!!! I still remember when we were only wishing there was a Chris thread!!!!!

Remind you about Why Germany? Thats a movie Chris did...i think it may be his first. I havent been able to find that one yet.

I called our Barnes & Noble, and they have the GQ with Chris on it! I reserved one and am going to pick it up after lunch.

Ok, here's the comedy scene; so don't kill the messenger if Jim looks silly!

They didn't call my name...

..thus proving that Urban did not wear a toupee during filming.

CD, Karl has some beautiful screen cap photo ops. I've been noticing as I go by. I have to smack my hand to not do them. I have a lot of Chris to do yet.

I couldn't stay awake through House, I'm so mad. :scream: I've gotten 1 1/2 of sleep since sunday morning and it caught up to me during House. I saw bits and pieces only. At one point, I saw Wilson kick House out, then next thing I know they are looking at a new place together... I'll have to catch it again online when they add it to FOX.com next tuesday. :rommie:

Well, we've still got a ways to catch up to the 52K posts in the Urban thread.

Argh! No spoilers!!! ;) We just finished watching the previous season on DVD. We wait and buy the whole thing at once every summer. None of this week-to-week; rather wait a whole year and get it all at once.

Nothing new in the Chris Pine mailbox from Google this morning.

Tom, why are you only getting 1-1/2 hours' sleep?

Turns out there was this little bit of news today in a trekmovie.com article: "In a new interview with Film Journal, Mace Neufeld, producer of the Jack Ryan series, talked about bringing Pine on board:

'We tried to get Harrison for The Sum of All Fears, but the script only made sense with a younger Jack Ryan. And the approach we’re taking on the new project will work perfectly with Chris Pine. The key to a good franchise remains the character. Whether it’s Bourne or Bond or Jack Ryan, people have to care about the character and want to find out what happens to him.'"

These include the "out of the chair" scene, leading up to the Vulcan nerve pinch/airlock scene.
