Chris Pine appreciation thread

Hi ST Fans,

I'm new to this forum so I don't know how to post pics yet, though I have a couple of very nice ones. But I saw Pine in an episode of the Guardian (TV show with Simon Baker before the Mentalist) and he was a beautiful young man with coal black straight hair and those lively blue eyes. Is he Irish? I bet so.

Cave Canis

Welcome, Cave Canis. I made a DVD of his Guardian episode, and I intend to be making some screen caps of it at some point. Should be fun. :D

Here is a chart of part of Chris's family geneology.

His grandmother, actress Anne Gwynne, was born in Waco, Texas. The original surname of Max Gilford, his grandfather, is Goldfarb. But the chart concentrates more on the Pine side.

This cover-girl picture of his grandmother shows where he got his fabulous smile and dimples.

how about these pics

These are from Chris's "Guardian" episode, called "Hazel Park," where he played "Lonnie Grandy." (I think the title park was the one Chris's character was helping to spruce up.)

It aired 4 November 2003 (Season 3, Episode 7); and Emilio Estevez was the director. Chris would have just turned 23; it's the second credit on his list (the first one being a 2003 episode of "ER"when he was 22).

Two things about that picture: first, 1024×768 is too large for an inline image -- it stretches the page -- and second, the image is hosted on the movie's official site and not on your own space. Please take a minute and review the TrekBBS guidelines for posting inline images. :)

JERI, thanks for those pics. Good lord he looks like he's like, ten! Such a young face. You can see those scars on the left side of his face too. I love 'em! And the hair leads me to think the hair he sported in CSI Miami WAS his real hair.

Girlfriend, you rock!

Randi, he looks like a baby some of the time. :D Others, his manliness shows through. His character is supposed to be like 18; so he's playing younger than he is. I doubted his hair in CSI was a wig; I'd already seen this episode.

Oh, yeah; I sleep in a big, black T-shirt with the poster image on it. I'm sleeping with Chris Pine.

Variety is reporting that Paramount is in negotiations with Chris Pine to star in their Jack Ryan reboot.

huh! I don't see it. Jack Ryan? Really? (what the hell is wrong with me???)
His career has really taken off thanks to ST. Couldnt happen to a nicer guy.
(*Chris, call me!)

God Jeri, those old pictures of him when he was a tot really are just too adorable for words.

Here's an update from Variety. They have chosen Chris, it sounds like:

"...UPDATE: Paramount confirmed this story late Tuesday, and in a statement, Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman said: "Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan. With Chris in this role, we've taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise."

Randi, you are so right. :D And look how his eyes changed to gray in this gray shirt.

GOOD FOR HIM!!! Maybe its seeing these baby pics of him that is making it difficult for me to see him in the role. AND i know i have Harrison Ford embedded in my brain in the role.

Funny, when i first saw ST, i was like, geez couldnt they at least give him contacts to match Shatner's eyes? His eyes are so blue, its just not right.

Now of course i realize hiding those magnificent eyes behind contact lenses would have been a HUGE mistake.
