Spoilers Children in Need clip now online

That clip was great. I'm even more excited for the special, and I was already really, really excited to see the 12th and 1st Doctor's together.

Was anyone else slightly reminded of the Third and Fourth Doctors when the First looks indeed like a fool when 12th Doctor says he should stop being one? Or is it just me.

I love Capaldi's smile when he delivers a zinger. "There's a few false starts, but you get there in the end."

Just like when he was talking to River about needing a flow-chart. I'm gonna miss him. :(

I have some critical thoughts, but I'm going to largely keep them to myself. This is a two-minute clip taken out of context, so some things may not be playing "right," causing the piece to feel tonally schizoid.

The one thing I will complain about is Moffat's habit of writing the Doctor like a complete idiot when he crosses paths with something from his own personal future. He did it in "Time-Crash" with the fifth Doctor, he did it with the tenth Doctor in "Silence in the LIbrary," and he did it in "The Day of the Doctor" with both the War Doctor and the tenth Doctor. The Doctor deals with temporal problems all the time. Why he's unable to grasp his own personal future when faced with it in Moffat's work makes no sense to me. It's an annoying trope in Moffat's work.

At this point on his life, the First Doctor will have met his Second and Third incarnations twice, and Fifth incarnation once (although he'd have forgotten the details). There must be a reason for his reluctance to acknowledge a future incarnation.

Nice faux pas, Thirteenth Doctor.

So do I. Very charming. :D

Yeah, that is rather annoying. I didn't mind it in "Time Crash" or "Silence of the Library" (he was more put off that someone would be so familiar with him, even it's someone from the future), but now it's getting old.

Something about Bradley's performance as The First Doctor doesn't feel right, something to do with the tempo of his speech. I thought his take on The First Doctor in An Adventure in Space and Time was better than this, but Allyn is right that it's hard to judge just from a few minutes.

That was nice. Time to start getting excited for the Christmas Special I suppose. I'm actually going to watch this one around Christmas this time, or at least try to.

I didn't think it felt "right," either. I tried to match this up to Hartnell's performance in "The Tenth Planet" and failed utterly.
