I registered and joined on April 25, 2001. Close, but in the year 2000 I didn't yet know this place existed.
True. Mostly because hardly any board would survive much longer.Mind you, the average life cycle of any given account in those days was two years.
April of 2000. The Internet was the Wild West back then.
hey, a genuine oldtimer! We are honoured by your presence, oh revered elder
What was the board like when you joined? Any anecdotes to share?
@ Mr. Laser Beam: In the very beginning TK was actually fun. You should have read missmanners' "Rules for Orgies" - priceless! Also, in chat, many trolls dropped their pose and turned out to be really nice. There used to be quite a lot of recipe-swapping - I still have a very good beef teriyaki recipe by Sardonica
Later the mood changed drastically and TK became a collection of perverts and wannabe-criminals.
Btw, many TrekBBSers have/had a TK account. Including current staff members and Admirals![]()
Heh.In case you wonder about the new name: it was the result of a chat with RJDiogenes. We discussed the unusual fact that there was still rhubarb to be had in the market while the rhododendrons were already in full bloom
