Characters that would've been more interesting had we not "seen" them

Hey folks,

A month or so ago, I started a thread that was a decent success in which I asked what your favorite characters are that we never actually see on screen.

Now, I'm asking what characters HAVE we seen that would have been more interesting had we not seen them. usually these might be people that we don't see at first, and then we finally see them, we can't help but be disappointed. Examples that came up since I got the Star Wars blu-rays are Jabba and, maybe the Emperor.

The Emperor is pretty awesome as is, particularly because McDermont is awesome.. but I do think he's not as interesting as he perhaps could be.. but that's my subjective opinion.

But Jabba was more interesting when he was off screen and only discussed. again that's also my opinion...

Sir Robin Masters on Magnum P.I.. never seen on the show but heavily hinted in the last season to have been Higgins all along.

Yes, this! A thousand times this! I liked seeing Darth Vader redeem himself from being an evil Sith. I didn't need to see him as a whiny teen.

Sir Robin Masters on Magnum P.I.. never seen on the show but heavily hinted in the last season to have been Higgins all along.

I've seen episodes of the first season lately and there are a couple of scenes where Magnum talks on the phone with Masters (voiced by Orson Welles!!!) while Higgins is in the room.

I'm in agreement with Lonemagpie, but the problem with Anakin was mostly in the execution. (And of course I assume he means any Time Lord besides Doctor Who, but what about the Master?) My additions:
