I saw this movie last night. I was hesitant because of bad reviews, but I really liked District 9 and Elysium, so I watched it anyway. I liked this movie. I thought it was good and I thought it was better than Elysium. Blomkamp may created the two most dispicable, unlikable characters in history in the character known as "daddy" and Hugh Jackman's character. I never thought I could hate a Hugh Jackman character, but this movie did it. The advertisements for this movie were completely immacurate and misleading. I was totally expecting a completely different movie. I'm happy with the movie and I really like Neil Blomkamp's style. I hope he gets to direct more mainstream films in the future.

I actually kind of liked Hugh Jackman's character. Yes, I know, in universe he's meant to be an unlikeable prick, but as an audience member watching a movie, I found him to be an entertaining character, even if he is a bit OTT, particularly with carrying a gun despite just having a cubicle job.
