Spoilers Centenary Special trailer

At this point, this Master spending eons away while waiting for the proper moment to resume his evil work is literally faux-Moffat of the Curse of the Fatal Death kind.

At this point, I'd be up for Doctor Who making The Curse of Fatal Death canon. Have the 13th Doctor regenerate into Rowan Atkinson at the end of her last episode (maybe use some make-up/CG trickery to make him look younger, and don't show him for very long, like the "young" War Doctor shown briefly when 8 regenerated). Then start the first episode of the new series with Joanna Lumley stumbling out of the TARDIS while regenerating (she doesn't even need age trickery, maybe her Doctor just lasted awhile) and have her regenerate into the new guy. Don't ever acknowledge anything that happened between the two episodes, but make sure to refer to the new Doctor as the 19th Doctor and let people connect the dots.

This may not be a good idea, but I think its more entertaining then any of Chibnall's

I'm all for it! I've long since lost count the number of times I've watched that special and I'm all for tying it into the main show. I don't care if it breaks continuity! :D

Can Chibnall write Terseran dialogue? Intentionally I mean, not just the stuff he had Yaz and Ryan spouting whenever the editor needed a break.

I mean c'mon

"The Power of the Doctor" ?

The Doctor has to be a giant battery for some world ending device cooked up by their foes.
My prediction is that her Power will be used to save Yaz. After doing so, the Doctor will no longer be immortal with limitless regenerations.

She’s gonna regenerate the entire universe, only she won’t need Amy Pond, The Pandorica, or any sort of foreshadowing to do it.

Und this bring back ALL the dead Time Lords (putting the toys back in the box).

It only puts the toys back in the box if they ditch that godawful Timeless Child stuff as a Master-made fantasy in the matrix. Which is awkward with Chef!Doctor out there.
But… make the Timeless Child the Master, or just the baby from Bel and can’t remember his name so let’s call him Sebastian, with *no* link to the Doctor, and have Chef!Doctor squeezed into some sort of aborted post Troughton timeline, and we might get some of the kinks out.

Chef Doctor? I think Fugitive Doctor, or just, you know, The Doctor, works better, and erasing the second female Doctor and first Doctor of colour from the timeline isn't a good look...

I’ve been calling her Chef!Doctor because I was very fond of that show when I was a teen (and Jo in it) and they hadn’t really landed on a name yet. Fugitive Doctor sounds like someone looking for a one armed man ;)

I think it was a disgrace making the first black Doctor a footnote in another’s story frankly (and all the magical negro tropes you could throw at it… and after the same Doctor had sent the first Indian Master to the camps. They don’t think this stuff through — there’s a reason Who very rarely dealt with actual Nazis, it’s not like the Daleks.)

And nothing I said would erase her from the Timeline in the slightest — it fits better if anything.

There are only two things I want to survive the Chibnall era.*
1. Maxine Alderton. I really hope RTD brings her back to write future episodes.
2. Jo Martin's Doctor

*as a slightly distant 3rd I'd say Dhawan as the Master

^^^ One of the benefits of dodging Chibnals run since half way through the second year is that i will be bringing no Chibnall baggage with me, so straight into RTD return with a new broom sweeps clean outlook. :-)

I'm not a fan of either the Timeless Child nor the idea of pre-Hartnell Doctors. However, I do like Jo Martin's Doctor and could live with her being the single pre-Hartnell Doctor.

I think the "power" in title must relate to her extraordinary powers as the Timeless Child. If I had my druthers, the power of the Doctor will be used to save Yaz and/or others and be used up, making her an ordinary Time Lord. We'd still have Jo's Doctor in existence but at least the notion of her being an extraordinary, immortal being ends going forward. I'd like that.

Ideally, they'd reveal that the Master was really the Timeless Child, but realistically that's not going to happen.
